'Timeless': Watch Rufus geek out inside Apollo 11 mission control in exclusive clip

As a pilot, Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) appreciates what it takes to carry out a successful flight. So, when he winds up inside the mission control center for the Apollo 11 moon landing on July 20, 1969, he’s understandably a little overwhelmed.

In the exclusive clip above from Timeless‘ eighth episode, “Space Race,” the TimeTeam travels back to the momentous day to stop Flynn (Goran Visnjic) from tampering with history. But when Wyatt (Matt Lanter) and Rufus fail to spot Flynn, Rufus takes a moment to look around at the famous figures in the room, spotting astronaut Charles Duke and lucky vest-wearing flight director Gene Krantz at their stations. “It’s like all of my heroes in one room,” Rufus says, “and every Christmas and July Fourth combined.” The moon landing means something to him, Wyatt surmises — and Flynn could take it all away.
