Modern Family is taking its comedy onto the court.

NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley and Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan will guest-star as themselves in an episode of the ABC family comedy slated to air in late January.

The pair attend a charity basketball game in which Phil (Ty Burrell) will play. (Phil’s been training for it since last year’s game, which did not turn out well for him.) The pressure on the Dunphy dad is ratcheted up when Barkley and Jordan become overly involved in the game.

Barkley, who now serves as an analyst on TNT’s Inside the NBA, has a Hollywood resume that includes such credits as Suits, The Bernie Mac Show, Space Jam, Look Who’s Talking Now, and Hot Shots!. Jordan recently appeared in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

Modern Family will feature another famous athlete in January as well. Peyton Manning will play Coach Gary, a sports tutor hired by Gloria (Sofia Vergara) to teach baby Joe (Jeremy Maguire). Other guest stars this season include Nathan Fillion, Martin Short, and Kelsey Grammer.
