The Leftovers creators announce final season premiere month

It took some prodding but Damon Lindelof managed to convince Tom Perrotta to reveal when The Leftovers will return for its third and final season.

In a special message released on social media, The Leftover creators announced that the critically acclaimed HBO series is returning April 2017.

The last time we checked in with the Garvey family, they were still in Jarden, Texas. As of now, we know that part of season 3 is set in Australia since the show shot on location there.

Cast members Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, Amy Brenneman, Kevin Carroll, Christopher Eccleston, Scott Glenn, Lindsay Duncan, Regina King, Jovan Adepo, Janel Moloney, Margaret Qualley, Jasmin Savoy-Brown, Liv Tyler, and Chris Zylka are returning for the eight-episode final season.
