Salem: Marilyn Manson has Sweeney Todd moment

All Crops: WGN America's Salem Season 3: 305 Baron Sebastian Marburg and Thomas Dinley Marilyn Manson Screengrab

If there’s one thing Thomas Dinley (Marilyn Manson) knows, it’s that “murder is a fine art.”

In this exclusive Salem clip from Wednesday’s episode, the barber schools Baron Sebastian von Marburg (Joe Doyle) in the art of murder after slaying Treasurer Putnam’s (Jonny Coyne) throat in his chair. With the deed done, Sebastian hands him a sum of money, which is more than Dinley was expecting.

“I would’ve done it just for the dark lord’s honor or just for the sheer pleasure of it,” says Dinley. And, Sebastian guarantees Dinley there is “much more pleasure to come.”

The clip ends with Dinley assuring Sebastian he knows how to get rid of a body and offering him a meat pie as he leaves, which is the Sweeney Todd nod series creator Brannon Braga teased before the season 3 premiere. “Don’t be surprised if you see a meat pie or two,” Braga told EW in August.

Elsewhere in tonight’s episode, Mary (Janet Montgomery) starts to turn The Sentinel against the Boy, and Tituba (Ashley Madekwe) accuses one of the Essex witches of being a traitor.

Salem airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on WGN America.
