Craig Robinson jams to some Ludacris on Caraoke Showdown

The show premieres Jan. 12 on Spike

ALL CROPS: Caraoke Showdown | Thursday Jan 12th on SPIKE

This is about to be so much cooler than your average Uber ride.

“What’s better than singing in the car?” Craig Robinson asks in the new trailer for his Spike game show, Caraoke Showdown. And if James Corden’s popular segment Carpool Karaoke is any indication, not much.

Robinson is taking the wheel and getting his passengers to show off their pipes (or lack thereof) in the new game show, and viewers should expect a whole lot of karaoke — with a barbershop quartet, with bachelorette parties, in a bowling alley, and even with moms dancing embarrassingly.

The show, which Spike announced as a 10-episode series in July, will give Robinson’s passengers chances to win money — à la Cash Cab — by singing along, correctly knowing lyrics, and acting out popular songs. Robinson will serve as host and executive producer, with Howie Mandel, Alice Dickens-Koblin, Peter Herschko, and Brian Veskosky also serving as EPs. CORE Media Group will also produce.

Sounds like a guilty pleasure in the making. Tune in Thursday, Jan. 12 at 10:30 p.m. ET on Spike.
