R.L. Stine is one of modern America’s most prolific horror writers. Most of his energy has been put into the multimedia Goosebumps franchise, but next year, Stine will be taking his talents to Marvel. Marvel announced on Friday that Stine will pen a five-issue Man-Thing miniseries, with art by German Peralta and a rotation of rising stars.

The character certainly seems like a fit for Stines macabre talents. Biochemist Ted Sallis was transformed into a swampy monster after a bungled attempt to recreate Captain America’s super soldier serum. According to Marvel, the new series will find Man-Thing fighting “an ancient and mysterious danger” while also struggling to find a life outside the swamp. Stine made it clear the new series will still feature his trademark blend of horror and humor.

“I’m going to do a lot of action and a lot of great violence and make it creepy, but I’m going to make it funny at the same time,” Stine told The New York Times. “It’s what I try to do in my books.”

Man-Thing #1 hits comic stores in March 2017. Check out some interior art from Peralta below.
