Michael Fassbender pranks Jimmy Fallon during local promos

While filming each night’s national broadcast of The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon has to also make special promos and lead-ins for various local affiliates. Not all of his guests take this sitting down, however. On Tuesday night, Michael Fassbender proceeded to gently troll Fallon in the background while the host did his shout-outs.

“Thank you Jackie and everyone in South Florida,” Fallon said for one. As he listed off the night’s guests, Fassbender slowly and creepily poked his head up from beneath the desk. During another, Fassbender pretended to be walking down stairs behind Fallon as he read his message.
