Felicity Huffman's Desperate Housewives costar Nicollette Sheridan calls college admissions scandal 'disgraceful'

Felicity Huffman‘s Desperate Housewives costar Nicollette Sheridan is speaking out about Huffman’s alleged involvement in a college admissions scandal, calling the scam “disgraceful” on Monday’s Access Live.

When asked for her reaction to the news, Sheridan struck an even-handed tone, noting, “We don’t know the facts,” but adding that “we can be extremely disturbed by the entitlement, the power, and money that can take away from less privileged [people]. And that to me is disgraceful.”

“I think there are ways to remedy a system that isn’t working, and I think has been broken for a long time,” said Sheridan, the first of Huffman’s former Housewives costars to publicly share their thoughts on the matter.

Host Kit Hoover asked if the Desperate Housewives cast had discussed the scandal, prompting Sheridan to quip, “Oh, you’re just looking for gossip, aren’t you!”

On March 12, federal prosecutors charged Huffman, along with Fuller House actress Lori Loughlin and dozens of others, for alleged involvement in a nationwide college cheating scandal. Huffman is accused of paying $15,000 to a firm that promised to help her older daughter cheat on college entrance exams; Loughlin allegedly paid $500,000 in bribes to have her daughters falsely labeled as members of USC’s crew team to aid in their admission to the university.

Both actresses were arrested and later released on bond, and are charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services fraud.
