Stars with COVID-19 share their stories

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to reverberate around the world, some of Hollywood's biggest stars are speaking about their experiences with the disease dubbed COVID-19 by the scientific community. Read on for more on the stars who have been diagnosed with the illness, and how they're urging fans to stay safe and take the virus seriously.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow revealed in February that she had COVID-19 "early on," which left her with "some long-tailed fatigue and brain fog." The actress and Goop founder also wrote that in January, her doctor said her road to healing would take "longer than usual." So to keep her body healthy, Paltrow has been adhering to a keto and plant-based diet and refraining from sugar and alcohol.

Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi

The 33-year-old Jersey Shore alum shared the news via Instagram on Feb. 14, posting a photo of herself wearing a mask while holding a bouquet of flowers at home.

"Happy Valentine's Day! This ones a bit different....I have Covid. I've been isolated in my room since I found out. My family & I have been super cautious & careful, so this is super scary," she wrote in her caption.

Michael Strahan

Beloved sports personality and talk show mainstay Michael Strahan, 49, was noticeably absent from his post on Good Morning America throughout the week beginning Jan. 25, 2021, which cohosts Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Amy Robach addressed at the top of the Jan. 28 broadcast.

"We know that you have noticed that Michael has not been here with us this week. He wanted us to let you know that he has tested positive for COVID and is at home, quarantining right now," Roberts explained, with Stephanopoulos adding: "So many of you have reached out to him and asked about him and he says, 'Thank you,' for the concern and well wishes. He's also feeling well and looking forward to being back here shortly."

Chloe Bennet

The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actress shared an Instagram story on New Year's Eve 2020 revealing she and several of her family members were battling the illness.

"On Christmas morning I woke up with a high fever, and unable to breathe," she wrote. "I got tested, and I'm positive for COVID-19... it's been a rough week to say the least."

Angela Kinsey

The Office star shared she tested positive for COVID-19 after her husband Joshua Snyder, her two stepsons, and her daughter came down with the virus. "I started not feeling well and went to get retested. I knew the odds were against me seeing as I was living with 4 Covid positive people. I really tried to quarantine and not get it," she wrote in an Instagram Story post on Dec. 29.

Larry King

News broke on Jan. 2 that legendary talk show host Larry King had been hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19. "Larry has fought so many health issues in the last few years and he is fighting this one hard too, he's a champ," a source close to King's family told ABC News.

Dr. Drew Pinsky

Dr. Drew Pinsky announced on Dec. 29 that he tested posted for COVID-19. "Cheers to the New Year with some Hydralyte for COVID-19. Drew tested positive [on] day 4," an Instagram photo caption from his official account reads. His wife Susan has so far tested negative for the novel coronavirus. Pinsky, who previously dismissed the outbreak as "a press-induced panic" before apologizing, is currently under surveillance at home and his fever is down.

Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick

Former Bachelorette star and Dancing with the Stars winner Kaitlyn Bristowe revealed on Instagram that she and her boyfriend, former Bachelorette contestant Jason Tartick, have tested positive for COVID-19. She explained that they were trying to quarantine before seeing family, but felt it was safe to have one person over who was being tested daily for work. "The day we saw her, she became positive which we all found out the next day," Bristowe wrote. "Now, like many, we will spend Christmas by ourselves. We just want to let everyone know that we thought we were being safe, but COVID is bigger than us."

Shemar Moore

S.W.A.T. star Shemar Moore shared the news of his coronavirus diagnosis on Dec. 24 in an Instagram post. "I HAVE COVID!!!! Just found out moments ago," the Criminal Minds alum wrote, noting that he first thought he simply had food poisoning. "I have to accept test results... I feel fine now... but I have to be responsible!!!! My Xmas n New Years is clearly not gonna be the best... my last year and a half has not been the best... but I WILL BE OKAY!!!!"

Sharon Osbourne

Sharon Osbourne revealed in December that she was briefly hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19. The Talk co-host also said she was currently isolating herself away from her husband, rocker Ozzy Osbourne. "I'm now recuperating at a location away from Ozzy (who has tested negative) while 'The Talk' is on scheduled hiatus," she tweeted. "Everyone please stay safe and healthy."

Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen DeGeneres shut down production on her eponymous talk show on Dec. 10, after confirming she tested positive for COVID-19. She posted a message on Twitter confirming she's "feeling fine right now" and that she's following "all proper CDC guidelines."

Carrie Ann Inaba

Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba has tested positive for COVID-19, she announced via Instagram on Dec. 10. While she's at home resting and taking care of herself, she shared a "friendly reminder to be extra careful this holiday season. Wear your masks, socially and physically keep your distance, and wash your hands."

Gloria Estefan

Gloria Estefan confirmed she tested positive for COVID-19 on Dec. 1. Though she said she had been strict with protocols, she dined outdoors once at her Miami restaurant where she was approached by someone without a mask. She has since recovered.

Rosie Perez

Rosie Perez confirms she had COVID-19 in December 2019, while shooting The Flight Attendant in Bangkok. The HBO Max drama only had two and a half more episodes to go when production was shut down, according to Uproxx.

Bad Bunny

Urban Latino superstar Bad Bunny had to pull out of performing duties at the 2020 American Music Awards after testing positive for the novel coronavirus.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson became the first known celebrities to openly share their diagnosis when they released a statement on March 11. "Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia," Hanks wrote on his social media accounts. "We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive."

Hanks went on to say that he and his wife would "be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires" and promised updates. After posting various updates on their well-being, it was revealed on March 16 that the couple had left the hospital and were remaining under quarantine at a rented house in Australia.

Olga Kurylenko

Olga Kurylenko, known for playing Camille in the James Bond film Quantum of Solace, revealed on March 15 that she had the virus. "Locked up at home after having tested positive for Coronavirus," she wrote in a post on her Instagram. "I've actually been ill for almost a week now. Fever and fatigue are my main symptoms. Take care of yourself and do take this seriously!" The following day, she posted again to thank her fans for reaching out and sending her well wishes, and she took the time to answer some of the most common questions she has received about the illness, including why she wasn't in the hospital and what it was like to get tested.

Kristofer Hivju

Kristofer Hivju, who played the lovable and fearsome Tormund Giantsbane on Game of Thrones, announced he had tested positive for the virus in a post on his Instagram on March 16.

"Greetings from Norway!" Hivju wrote. "Sorry to say that I, today, have tested positive for COVID19, Corona virus. My family and I are self-isolating at home for as long as it takes. We are in good health—I only have mild symptoms of a cold."

His post continued, "There are people at higher risk for who this virus might be a devastating diagnosis, so I urge all of you to be extremely careful; wash your hands, keep 1,5 meters distance from others, go in quarantine; just do everything you can to stop the virus from spreading. Together we can fight this virus and avert a crisis at our hospitals. Please take care of each other, keep your distance, and stay healthy! Please visit your country's Center for Disease Control's website, and follow the regulations for staying safe and protecting not just yourselves, but our entire community, and especially those at risk like the elderly and people with pre-existing conditions."

Idris Elba

Luther star Idris Elba took to his social media accounts on March 16 to share the news that he was the latest celebrity to contract the illness.

"This morning I tested positive for Covid 19," he wrote on Twitter. "I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I'm doing. No panic."

Elba further elaborated in a video he posted with wife Sabrina Dhowre: "It came back positive, yeah, and it sucks. I'm doing okay. Sabrina hasn't been tested and she's doing okay. I didn't have any symptoms. I got tested because I realized I was exposed to someone who also tested positive. I found out last Friday that they tested positive, I quarantined myself immediately and got a test immediately and got the results back today. It's serious."

He then encouraged people to practice social distancing and wash their hands. "Look, we live in a divided world right now, we can all feel it, it's been bullshit," Elba concluded. "Now's the time for solidarity. Now's the time for thinking about each other. There are so many people whose lives have been affected, from people who've lost somebody they love to people who don't even have it and have lost their livelihoods. This is real."

Andrew Watt

Music producer Andrew Watt, known creatively as Watt, revealed on March 17 that he tested positive for COVID-19, after initially being told he had the flu. "Yesterday I was given the results that I am positive for COVID-19. I wanted to tell you all about my journey getting here in an effort to bring awareness to the severity of what's happening in the world," he wrote in a series of posts on his Instagram.

Watt, who won a Grammy in 2019 for his work on Cardi B's album Invasion of Privacy, and who has also worked with Post Malone and Ozzy Osbourne, said on March 6 that he started feeling like he was "hit by a bus. I couldn't move out of my bed for days and started to run a fever." He was told he had the flu and ordered to take Tamiflu and Tylenol to ease his symptoms, which later progressed. "The chills, sweats, and fevers did not stop," he said. "I started to become delusional and then began the dry cough." He said he was taken to the hospital, where he "begged" to be tested, and he was denied. Finally, a private doctor was able to give him the test, and it came back positive.

Watt said currently his fever is subsiding some and he's regaining his appetite, but he still has difficulty breathing. He concluded his post with a warning. "I am 29 years old. I am a healthy young man and I am going to get through this no matter what. I am going to make a full recovery," he wrote. "But... there are so many people in my life and in the world that could possibly not get through this due to their age and/or a compromised immune system... this is why I am writing this post. I can't stress this enough... This is not a joke. Stay inside, stay sanitized."

Kevin Durant

Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant revealed on March 17 that he, along with at least three of his teammates, had tested positive for the virus. "Everyone be careful, take care of yourself, and quarantine," said Durant, who told The New York Times that he was feeling fine. "We're going to get through this." The Nets released a statement confirming that four players had tested positive, but only one was showing symptoms. The organization did not name the players. "All players and members of the Nets travel party are being asked to remain isolated, closely monitor their health and maintain constant communication with team medical staff," the team said.

Charlotte Lawrence

Singer and model Charlotte Lawrence announced on March 18 that she had tested positive for COVID-19.

In an Instagram post sharing the news, the 19-year-old daughter of actress Christa Miller and TV producer Bill Lawrence assured fans that she will be "completely fine," but urged her nearly 800,000 followers to do everything in their power to follow safety protocols and "protect those less able to survive this virus."

"Think about your parents. Think about your grandparents. I love so many people who might have a very tough time getting through this," the Birds of Prey soundtrack singer continued. "For the love of God, self f---ing quarantine or you'll be on my s--- list."

Indira Varma

Game of Thrones and The Seagull star Indira Varma indicated on March 18 on Instagram that she was sick from the illness.

"So sad our and so many other shows around the world have gone dark affected by the Covid-19 pandemic," she wrote. "We hope to be back soon and urge you all (and the govt) to support us when we do."

She concluded her note by urging her followers to be kind to others: "Phoenix/ Seagull rising from the ashes. I'm in bed with it and it's not nice. Stay safe and healthy and be kind to your fellow people."

Daniel Dae Kim

Daniel Dae Kim revealed on March 19 that he had tested positive for COVID-19 the day prior. The Lost and Hawaii Five-O actor posted a video to his Instagram explaining his experience so far with the illness. "Hi everyone- yesterday I was diagnosed with COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus," he wrote alongside the video. "Looks like I'll be ok, but I wanted share my journey with you in the hopes that you find it informative or helpful. Hope you all stay safe, calm, and above all, healthy."

In the video, which he filmed while he self-quarantined at his home in Hawaii, he explained his symptoms and his experience taking the test. The actor also said that though he is feeling much better, everyone should be taking this pandemic seriously. He concluded his video by thanking his family, friends, and fans for their support and kept things light by making a joke. "I guess it's nice to be mentioned in the same breath as Tom Hanks and Idris Elba, two of my favorite actors," he said. "I guess I'm in some pretty good company."

Colton Underwood

Bachelor star Colton Underwood, who appeared on the show's 23rd season, announced on March 20 that he had tested positive for COVID-19, after first feeling symptoms of the illness a few days prior.

"It's been kicking my ass, just to put it pretty bluntly," the 28-year-old said in a video posted to his Instagram. "The main thing is I can't even walk up a flight of stairs without being out of breath or go to the bathroom without having to sit down because I'm exhausted."

Underwood said that he is currently self-isolating at his girlfriend Cassie Randolph's parents' home in California, but that everyone is "in good spirits" and he would keep fans posted.

"So, I guess the reason I'm sharing this is not to cause fear or panic, but to hopefully encourage you guys to stay home, do your part, take care of yourselves, take care of one another," he said. "I just want to encourage everybody to stay at home. Stay in your house and do your part and take care of one another."

Andy Cohen

Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen said on March 20 that he has coronavirus.

"After a few days of self-quarantine, and not feeling great, I have tested positive for Coronavirus," he wrote in an Instagram post. "As much as I felt like I could push through whatever I was feeling to do #WWHL from home, we're putting a pin in that for now so I can focus on getting better. I want to thank all the medical professionals who are working tirelessly for all of us, and urge everybody to stay home and take care of themselves."

Debi Mazar

Younger star Debi Mazar announced on March 21 on her Instagram that she had tested positive for the virus.

"I have just tested positive for Covid-19. I AM OK!" she wrote. "About a month ago my entire home (husband and two teen daughters) got an odd bug—Low grade fever, headaches, sore throat, body aches, ears ringing and a dry cough. It cleared up quickly. Seasonal I thought? but it felt unusual/different... Two weeks later, March 15th, I woke up with all those same symptoms but super intense body aches, and 102.4 fever. I figured maybe I got the flu or..Corona?"

Like many others, Mazar had issues getting access to a test because she didn't meet the stated "criteria" to get one, but when she finally took the test, it came back positive. "I'm hoping I've been through the worst of it already... One day I feel crappy and the next I'm normal. Today my lungs are heavy, but I'm tough. I can breath, and I'm going to heal here, in my own home!"

She ended her message by telling her fans to stay home. "Protect yourselves & your loved ones. Build up your immune systems. Good Luck & God Bless us all!"

Nyle DiMarco

Dancing With the Stars champion Nyle DiMarco said on March 21 via his Twitter account that he believes he has coronavirus but that he has opted to forego getting tested so that people with more serious symptoms can take the test instead.

DiMarco said he began experiencing symptoms of the virus, including a spiked fever, chills, sore throat, and a mild cough, as well as a lack of smell and taste, and that he spoke with his doctor and placed himself on self-quarantine.

"I'd really like to stress the importance of testing," he wrote on social media. "Of course testing is critical and it's been proven in some countries like South Korea to greatly help the efforts of combating Coronavirus. In a perfect world I would take that test. However, the U.S. lacks enough test kits for everyone. If you are healthy and if you have no respiratory issues I strongly encourage you to be mindful of sick patients and allow them to get tested if they need it more than you do. And please stay home." He ended his note by saying, "We're all in this together. Let's do it."

Gavin Creel

Like DiMarco, Broadway star Gavin Creel announced on March 22 that he believes he has COVID-19, but he has not been formally tested for the virus.

Creel revealed the news during Rosie O'Donnell's live-streamed show. "I'm pretty sure I have the virus," Creel said. "I haven't been officially tested, but I was doing Waitress in London and a bunch of our cast has fallen sick from it. One of my castmates did test the same day that I was starting to have symptoms, and she's positive and we were together the whole time."

He described his symptoms as having a "cruddy flu." He said he's "hanging tight" and shared that his doctor told him to stay away from other people for 14 days.

Plácido Domingo

Spanish opera singer Plácido Domingo on March 22 announced he has tested positive for coronavirus.

"I feel it is my moral duty to announce to you that I have tested positive for COVID19, the Corona virus," he wrote in a post on his Facebook page. "My Family and I are all in self-isolation for as long as it is deemed medically necessary. Currently, we are all in good health but I experienced fever and cough symptoms therefore deciding to get tested and the result came back positive."

He urged followers "to be extremely careful, follow the basic guidelines by washing your hands frequently, keeping at least a 6 feet distance from others, doing everything you can to stop the virus from spreading and please above all stay home if you can!"

Harvey Weinstein

On March 22, news broke that disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein had tested positive for the virus. Weinstein is one of two inmates at Wende Correctional Facility in western New York who tested positive, according to Reuters. Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year sentence for committing a criminal sex act in the first degree and rape in the third degree. No official statement from Weinstein with regards to the diagnosis or pandemic has been made.

Aaron Tveit

Aaron Tveit, star of the Moulin Rouge! Broadway show, informed fans on Monday, March 23 that he'd tested positive for coronavirus, but is feeling "much better." The actor has been in quarantine since Broadway closed down on March 12, though Moulin Rouge! actually halted production one day prior to the industry-wide shutdown, when one member of the company had a fever. "I consider myself extremely lucky that my symptoms have been very mild—cold like with no fever—as so many are experiencing much more serious symptoms, because this is a very dangerous virus," he wrote on Instagram. "I was tested last Monday, and just found out the results, however, I have been taking this situation extremely seriously, even before I was tested. I want everyone to realize that this can affect anyone. And even if you aren't feeling sick or showing drastic symptoms—please take heed, stay safe, stay healthy and I hope to see everyone at the theater again soon."

Slim Thug

Rapper Slim Thug revealed to his fans on Instagram that he tested positive for COVID-19. "No games being played," he began the video, which he shared on his account on March 24. "As careful as I've been self-quarantined and staying home, I might have gotten something to eat or something or did some stuff like that—simple stuff like that, nothing crazy—stayed in my truck, had masks, gloves, everything on. And my test came back positive."

Slim Thug said he feels much better after having a slight fever and cough initially, but he encouraged his followers to follow quarantine guidelines and to get their symptoms checked out if they're concerned. "Take it seriously. It's real out here," he concluded.

Jackson Browne

Rocker Jackson Browne told Rolling Stone on March 24 that he tested positive for COVID-19. Luckily, he said his symptoms were "pretty mild" and that he wouldn't be requiring medication or hospitalization.

The 71-year-old said he suspected he may have contracted the illness at the annual Love Rocks NYC benefit in New York City, which also featured artists like Cyndi Lauper and Dave Matthews. Browne also cautioned young people who feel they aren't impacted by the virus to take it seriously. "They need to take part in the global response to stop the spread," he said. "That means not going anywhere, not getting into contact with anybody, not seeing anybody."

Laura Bell Bundy

On March 25, Hart of Dixie and Legally Blonde: The Musical actress Laura Bell Bundy announced on Instagram that she tested positive for coronavirus.

"Do not be alarmed, I am okay," she said in a video message. "I am taking everything in stride. I am taking all the nutritional supplements that have been recommended by my doctor." Bundy, who explained that she had been self-quarantined since March 12, said she wanted to share her symptoms, though they are "minor." She said initially she had a fever and a sore throat, and a few days later felt tightness in her chest and shortness of breath intermittently.

"It's very, very, scary, of course I'm scared," she said, adding that she believes she could have contracted the illness at an event she went to before she started self-quarantine. "I highly encourage everybody to stay inside. My belief is that more people have this than they realize and could be carriers. I was tested, but many people can't get tested."

She concluded, "Please take care of yourselves, do not expose yourself to relatives that are older, friends that are older, or anybody really."

Scarface

Rapper and Geto Boys co-founder Scarface revealed in a March 26 interview with his bandmate Willie D that he had been hospitalized as a result of the virus.

The rapper said he first found out he tested positive for COVID-19 two days prior after weeks of battling the illness. Scarface said initially his symptoms started as "an itch in [his] throat," which then progressed to a fever, at which point he went to the emergency room and received antibiotics. He would later return to the hospital with even worse symptoms. "It started off with pneumonia in both of my lungs and three or four days later my kidneys failed," he said. "I've been to the point where I felt I was gonna die."

"It's not fake," he warned listeners. "I'm not all the way out the woods yet... People out there thinking this s--- is a game, it ain't no joke."

Chris Cuomo

CNN anchor Chris Cuomo announced on March 31 that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

"In these difficult times that seem to get more difficult and complicated by the day, I just found out that I am positive for coronavirus," Cuomo wrote in a message on Twitter. "I have been exposed to people in recent days who have subsequently tested positive and I had fevers, chills, and shortness of breath. I just hope I didn't give it to the kids and Cristina. That would make me feel worse than this illness!"

Cuomo, whose brother is New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, said he will continue to host his show Cuomo Prime Time from home while he recovers. He ended his message on a positive note: "We will all beat this by being smart and tough and united!"

Brian Stokes Mitchell

Broadway star Brian Stokes Mitchell revealed on April 2 that he tested positive for coronavirus. Fortunately, it seemed he was on the mend, with the worst already over.

"The good news is, over the last few days I've isolated myself. I come to you from the bedroom now," Mitchell said in a Twitter video, adding that his family has "been 100 percent asymptomatic." "I love you guys so much, thank you for everything you've been doing for me. The other good news is, for the last few days, probably the last three or four, every day that has passed has been better than the previous. So I'm pretty sure I'm over the hump for this right now."

Mitchell has been a Broadway leading man since the '90s, and in 2000 won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance in the revival of Kiss Me, Kate.

Sara Bareilles

Sara Bareilles revealed on April 2 that she tested positive for coronavirus, but has since recovered. The singer announced the news on her Instagram Stories while she was out "social distance walking."

"I had it, just so you know. I'm fully recovered, just so you know," Bareilles said. "I am just thinking about all of the people who are walking through this really tricky time and sending a lot of love and just being really grateful for every easy breath and every day that I get to be walking around. Lots of love, you guys. Take care of yourselves."

On Rosie O'Donnell's live show on March 23, Bareilles' Waitress costar Gavin Creel said he was "pretty sure" he had the illness, despite not getting tested. The actor explained that one of his other Waitress castmates (not Bareilles) had tested positive and they had been around each other for some time. But Bareilles did not elaborate on when she contracted the illness, when she recovered, or other details.

Brooke Baldwin

CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin announced on Instagram on April 3 that she had tested positive for coronavirus. "I am OKAY," Baldwin wrote. "It came on suddenly yesterday afternoon. Chills, aches, fever. I've been social distancing. Doing ALL the things we're being told to do. Still—it got me. I'm healthy… no underlying conditions… Honestly, I feel like one of the lucky ones."

Baldwin is the second CNN anchor to test positive for the virus, following Chris Cuomo. Despite her diagnosis, Baldwin says she's looking forward to being back on TV "real soon."

"And shout out to the doctors and nurses who are doing the real work right now," she added.

Pink

Pink announced via Twitter on April 3 that she tested positive for coronavirus two weeks ago and has since recovered from it. "This illness is serious and real," she wrote. "People need to know that the illness affects the young and old, healthy and unhealthy, rich and poor, and we must make testing free and more widely accessible to protect our children, our families, our friends and our communities."

Because of her experience, Pink is donating $1 million to coronavirus relief funds "in an effort to support the healthcare professionals who are battling on the frontlines every day."

Marianne Faithfull

Marianne Faithfull, known for her 1964 hit "As Tears Go By," is being treated for COVID-19 in a London hospital. "She is stable and responding to treatment, we all wish her well and a full and speedy recovery," read an April 4 statement from her manager.

The 73-year-old has previously dealt with numerous health issues, including breast cancer, hepatitis C, and a broken hip in 2014.

The singer-songwriter, one of the most visible female artists of the British Invasion, released her 21st album in 2018, titled Negative Capability.

Faithfull recently signed off on a biopic about her life, starring Bohemian Rhapsody's Lucy Boynton. It was set to begin filming in fall 2020, but with the coronavirus pandemic, that timeline could change.

John Taylor

On April 5, Duran Duran bassist John Taylor revealed in a note posted on the band's Twitter account that he tested positive for coronavirus "almost three weeks ago."

"Perhaps I am a particularly robust 59-year-old—I like to think I am—or was blessed with getting only a mild case of COVID-19, but after a week or so of what I would describe as a 'Turbo-charged Flu', I came out of it feeling okay," Taylor wrote, adding, "I am speaking out to answer to the enormous amount of fear being generated by the pandemic, some of it entirely justified, and my heart goes out to everyone who has had to deal with real loss and pain. Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jennifer Aydin announced on April 8 that she tested positive for COVID-19.

The cast member, who joined the show in 2018, revealed the news on Instagram.

"Why I've been MIA: I've been sick for the past 10 days and Monday is when my test came back positive," she captioned a video, adding that she was beginning to feel better.

She ended the post by writing, "We'll all get through this. #staypositive #stayinside #covid19."

Todd Chrisley

Todd Chrisley is recovering after testing positive for COVID-19. The Chrisley Knows Best star, 52, revealed on his Chrisley Confessions podcast that he had been "battling corona" for three weeks resulting in being hospitalized for four and a half days. He has since been released and is recovering at home.

"It has been the sickest that I have ever been in the 52 years I've been on this earth," he said. "I cannot ever tell you a time in my life where I have ever been as sick as what I had been with the coronavirus...This has been a life-altering experience for me. I know it's been a life-altering experience for everyone in my family."

Babyface

While thanking fans for their birthday wishes on April 10, Grammy-winning singer Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds revealed that he and his family had tested positive for coronavirus. "I feel so blessed to celebrate another birthday... it's an incredibly scary thing to go through my friends," Edmonds said of his diagnosis. "I'm happy to report we have now tested negative and are on our way back to full health."

George Stephanopoulos

On April 13, Good Morning America anchor George Stephanopoulos announced his diagnosis on the ABC morning show. The news comes nearly two weeks after his wife, actress and author Ali Wentworth, confirmed she tested positive for COVID-19.

Stephanopoulos said that he has been "basically asymptomatic." "I've never had a fever, never had chills, never had a headache, never had a cough, never had shortness of breath," said Stephanopoulos, who has been working from home for the past month or so. "I'm feeling great." He added that the only thing he's really noticed was some back pain and a diminished sense of taste at one point.

Danny Burstein

The six-time Tony nominee and star of Broadway's Moulin Rouge! The Musical penned a column about his experience with COVID-19. He describes how he fell to his "hands and knees in the shower" and had "been coughing up blood for two to three days" before making the decision to go to the hospital.

Sturgill Simpson

The country star was touring behind his latest album Sound & Fury when coronavirus quarantine went into effect. Simpson says he was experiencing symptoms like fever and high blood pressure as early as March 13 but wasn't able to get tested until April 9. He has now tested positive, even though he's had symptoms for more than a month, and is under self-quarantine until April 19.

"The CDC nurse I spoke to yesterday told me that it reacts differently in a case-by-case basis and the White House briefings and the information they are providing is basically pure speculation causing fear and that the only thing anybody knows is that we don't really know much yet," Simpson wrote on Instagram.

Madonna

Madame X is a dancer, a professor, a head of state, a housekeeper, an equestrian, a prisoner, a student, a mother, a child, a teacher, a nun, a singer, a saint, a whore, and a new carrier of coronavirus antibodies!

Though the 61-year-old Queen of Pop did not explicitly state that she had coronavirus, she revealed in an Instagram video that she tested positive for coronavirus antibodies, which the CDC describes as sickness-fighting proteins that "show if you had a previous infection with the virus."

Tony Shalhoub

Tony Shalhoub is an Emmy and Tony award-winning actor who famously played detective Adrian Monk on USA Network's Monk and currently stars in Amazon's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Shalhoub revived the Monk character, who had obsessive-compulsive disorder, for the debut episode of Peacock's At-Home Variety Show, he confirmed he and his wife had coronavirus in April. The pair has since recovered after "a pretty rough few weeks."

Antonio Banderas

On August 10, his 60th birthday, the Spanish actor shared a post on Twitter in which he revealed he is recovering from a positive COVID-19 diagnosis. Banderas wrote that he was feeling pretty good, just a little more tired than normal and that he is confident that, by following medical advice, he'll recover soon. He went on to add that he's been making the most of the isolation, reading, writing, resting, and making plans to commemorate his 60s—something he's looking forward to and hopeful about.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson told fans in September that he, his wife, and his young daughters have all tested positive for COVID-19. Although the actor said they are "no longer contagious," he called the diagnoses "one of the most challenging and difficult" things they've ever had to experience. Johnson also reminded his supporters to stay disciplined, wear a mask, and be strict about having people over or hosting gatherings.

Michael Rooker

Guardians of the Galaxy star Michael Rooker told fans in September that he's beaten COVID-19 after an "epic battle" with the illness. "My body has won the WAR! Covid put up a pretty good fight," the actor wrote on Facebook. Although he did not take extra medicines or supplements while fighting the illness, Rooker said he did self-isolate in his Airstream vehicle.

Giuliana Rancic

While Giuliana Rancic is usually a staple at every awards show, the E! host revealed she couldn't cover the Emmys preshow on Sept. 20 as she and her family had tested positive for COVD-19. In a video message during the red carpet show, Rancic told fans, "As I go into my 20th year on the E! red carpet I have to say I do not take missing an award show lightly, but unfortunately this year is just so different." Luckily, Rancic said she, her husband, and her son were all doing well. "Protect yourselves and protect those around you. I'll see you on the next red carpet," she added.

Vivica A. Fox

Vivica A. Fox was slated to co-host with Giuliana Rancic for E!'s Live From the Red Carpet ahead of the virtual Emmys, but the actress also had to bow out as she similarly tested positive for COVID-19. In a written statement read by Brad Goreski, Fox said she is isolating at home out of "an abundance of caution." "During these unprecedented times, it's more important than ever that we follow all safety and health rules and guidelines to protect ourselves and each other," Fox added.

Brooke Lynn Hytes

"Well kids, mom got the Covid," the RuPaul's Drag Race season 11 finalist and Canada's Drag Race host announced in a Sept. 29 Instagram post. Hytes suspected she contracted the virus while on a break from the ongoing Canada's Drag Rave LIVE at the Drive-In tour, which also features season 1 winner Priyanka. The dancing diva said she's "all tucked away in my quarantine" and is "doing just fine" with mild symptoms, and revealed she will likely be back on tour next week.

"Please be careful out there. This can happen to ANYBODY at anytime. I followed the rules, and it still got me," she cautioned. "Wash your hands, wear a mask, be kind and VOTE!"

Jim Parsons

The Boys in the Band actor revealed to Jimmy Fallon that he and his spouse, Todd, contracted the virus "early on" in March. "We didn't know what it was. We thought we had colds, and then it seemed less likely," he said. "Finally, we lost our sense of smell and taste, utterly. It defied the descriptions for me. I didn't realize how completely taste and smell could be gone. And when you're in quarantine and there's nothing to do but eat, oh my God, that was brutal."

Anna Camp

Pitch Perfect star Anna Camp revealed in July that she contracted coronavirus after slipping up and not wearing a mask "one time." And the actress paid the price. Camp told fans on Instagram that she "was extremely sick for over three weeks" and still has "lingering symptoms" from the illness. She hoped people could learn from her mistake, writing, "Let's all do our part and wear a mask. I don't want any of you to go through what I did. Even though it's a little thing, it can have a huge impact, and it's so incredibly easy to do."

Bryan Cranston

When revealing his coronavirus diagnosis in July, Breaking Bad actor Bryan Cranston also shared a video of himself donating plasma at UCLA for scientific research. Luckily, the star only had mild symptoms like a slight headache and loss of taste and smell. "The symptoms show up different for everyone it seems," Cranston said.

Alyssa Milano

Alyssa Milano detailed her harrowing experience with COVID-19 in August, telling fans she tested positive after numerous negative results. "I had never been this kind of sick ... I thought I was dying," she added. In an update weeks later, the Charmed star said while she's doing better, she still experienced "occasional heart palpitations" and other lingering symptoms. "Please take care of yourselves," she said. "Please wash your hands and wear a mask and social distance. I don't want anyone to feel the way I felt."

Tiffany Haddish

Comedian Tiffany Haddish revealed she tested positive for COVID-19 during an interview with Dr. Anthony Fauci in late August. She said she got tested twice, once when someone on the movie she was working on contracted coronavirus, and another after someone else she knew tested positive. The second test came up positive. At this point, Haddish said she self-isolated with her dogs. The Girls Trip star also got tested for antibodies and was told she had them, but a later antibody test revealed that they'd disappeared. "That was three months ago," she said. "I've been tested 12 times now because I've been working and everything."

Robert Pattinson

Rumors swirled after Matt Reeves' The Batman shut down production after someone on set tested positive for COVID-19, and it was later revealed that it was Batman himself, Robert Pattinson, who contracted the illness. The famously private actor hasn't discussed dealing with coronavirus, but the film resumed production in September, after already having halted in March when the pandemic first hit Hollywood.

Neil Patrick Harris

In September, Neil Patrick Harris opened up about getting COVID-19 and said he and his family—including husband David Burtka and their 9-year-old twins—also contracted the illness earlier this year. "It happened very early [in the pandemic], like late March, early April," he revealed on the Today show. "We were doing our best before, and I thought I had the flu, and I didn't want to be paranoid about it. And then I lost my sense of taste and smell, which was a big indicator, so we holed up."

Priyanka

Priyanka, the fan-favorite inaugural winner of Canada's Drag Race is also the first RuPaul's Drag Race franchise champion to publicly reveal a COVID contraction.

"I came into contact with 2 people who tested positive while out socially last week in Toronto and have been ordered to self isolate for 2 weeks," the Toronto-based drag queen revealed on Instagram, further adding that she had to pull out of two stops on her current drive-in drag tour as a result despite exhibiting "no symptoms" of the infection. "The recent spikes in Quebec and Ontario are proof this virus is still very real and we simply can't go back to our social lives as usual! Please stay out of the bars, physical distance, wash your hands and wear your masks!"

Balthazar Getty

Actor-turned-DJ Balthazar Getty revealed to PEOPLE that he tested positive for coronavirus during the first week of March, just days after returning from a trip to Milan, but has since recovered. "I was a bit luckier in terms of my symptoms. I didn't have a terrible time nor a horrible cough," the former Brothers & Sisters star said. "I didn't need to be hospitalized. I was incredibly lucky in terms of that, but I did suffer quite a bit."

Despite not having "extreme conditions," Getty said he found himself frightened and "pretty depressed," but considers himself fortunate. "I mean, when you're alone, just in a bedroom for two weeks and not feeling well, it's easy to get in your head, so I definitely had to try to do things, whether it was reading or drawing or even working on some music on my laptop. It was to just try to get out of my head."

Getty tested negative for the virus after two weeks of quarantining and said he just wants people to wear their masks. "It's asking for so little. I wish it wasn't politicized," he said. "If the worst thing that you have to do to try to help this thing is to wear a mask when you go out, I don't think that's too much to ask."

Stephen Amell

The Arrow alum revealed on the Inside of You podcast with actor Michael Rosenbaum that he contracted COVID-19 a couple of weeks prior, which forced him to pause production on the Starz wrestling drama Heels. The actor, 39, discussed how he dealt with the "mental fear" of letting his coworkers down by "destroying" the production. But he didn't and plans to return to work in a matter of days.

Khloé Kardashian

Khloé Kardashian was diagnosed with coronavirus during the filming of Keeping Up With the Kardashians a few months ago and revealed the news on the show this season. "I just found out that I do have corona," she says in a sneak peek clip from the episode. "It's going to be fine but it was really bad for a couple of days, vomiting and shaking, and hot and then cold. I suffer from migraines but this was the craziest headache... Let me tell you, that s--- is real."

Joe Budden

Host of The Joe Budden Podcast and Revolt's State of the Culture, Joe Budden revealed the news of his coronavirus diagnosis on Twitter on Oct. 29, while warning fans that it might have an effect on future episodes as a result. "So I have COVID," he wrote. "I'm pretty sure this effects our pod schedule."

Lee Brice

Country singer Lee Brice was set to perform a duet with Carly Pearce at the 2020 CMA Awards but was diagnosed with coronavirus before he ever made it to rehearsal, and had to cancel. In a statement to the Associated Press, a representative for Brice said the singer was "in good spirits and not experiencing any symptoms. … Lee would like to thank the CMAs and all of his incredible fans for his nominations and is wishing his fellow nominees an incredible evening celebrating the best of country music."

Tyler Hubbard

Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard was the second musician to drop out of the 2020 CMA Awards after posting that he was asymptomatic but tested positive for COVID-19. His announcement prompted the Country Music Association to release a statement reiterating the precautions they're taking with the awards show, saying "Although this is incredibly disappointing, not only for the show but also for CMA personally as we care deeply for these artists and only want the best for them and their families, it does reassure us that our protocols are working."

Nick Robinson

Love, Simon and A Teacher star Nick Robinson revealed in an interview with Variety that he and his girlfriend caught COVID-19 in New York in March when the virus was starting to sweep through the city. "We both got sick. Luckily it was very mild," Robinson said. "We had some fevers and we lost our senses of taste and smell." He's since returned to work and is currently shooting Netflix's Maid in Canada. "I was nervous going back, but I felt pretty confident in our showrunners," he said.

Richard Schiff and Sheila Kelley

The West Wing star Richard Schiff announced Nov. 10 that he and his wife, The Good Doctor actress Sheila Kelley, tested positive for COVID-19 on Election Day. "This has been the most bizarre week of our lives," Schiff wrote on Twitter. "This is tough. We are determined to find a way to health again. We root for everyone out there who are struggling with this thing. Love from here." Added Kelley in an Instagram post, "We're quarantined in our home in Vancouver, recovering. This virus is a slippery sucker. One minute you feel almost fine and the next you can't catch your breath. Symptoms change radically daily even hourly."

Hugh Grant

The 60-year-old star of HBO's The Undoing, Hugh Grant, revealed in an interview with Stephen Colbert that he contracted COVID-19 around February 2020 and tested positive for the antibodies in October. He described intense sweats, a loss of smell, and the feeling that his eyes were three sizes too big.
