Eddie Izzard is feeling "very positive" after announcing her pronouns are now she/her.

Izzard sat as a model last week for the Sky Arts' Portrait Artist Of The Year where she publicly opened up about being gender fluid and embracing all the facets that make her unique. The yearly special brings together painters and the celebrity subjects they'll draw as part of a competition.

"I try to do things that I think are interesting, and this is the first program I've asked if I can be she and her. A little transition period," she told Curtis Holder, the artist whose painting won the competition.

Expressing her optimism in light of the news, she shared, "Well it feels great, because people just assume that they just know me from before but I'm gender fluid. I just want to be based in girl mode from now on."

Izzard has since been receiving heaps of praise from fans.

"I woke up to see #EddieIzzard trending and feared the worst. I was delighted to see that she's living her best life and it's just some keyboard crybabies melting down over her pronouns."

"I've loved #EddieIzzard ever since her role in Mystery Men telling the world that 'disco is life!!' and I don't see that changing any time soon. Keep being a bad ass queen!!"

"We met in the ladies loo," a fan who met Izzard in the ladies room tweeted. "She explained that when she's in girl mode she uses the ladies loo. I wanted to tell her I didn't give a shit what loo she uses, I'm a massive fan. Instead, I just gawped cos I was geeking out. Still one of my favorite photos."
