Whoopi Goldberg wants to 'send the Pope some bees'

"The Vatican should have bees."

Whoopi Goldberg, Oscar-winning actress and Alyssa Farah Griffin's pregnancy prophet, is trading her Sister Act habit for a veiled beekeeping suit in the hopes of getting the Vatican abuzz with new guests.

"Does the Vatican have bees?" the Ghost star inquired Thursday on her trip to Italy, where she met with Pope Francis for an undisclosed project that's set to be announced Monday on The View.

As reported by Vatican News, after being received by the Pope, the 67-year-old visited the nearby environmental conservation art exhibition Changes, which includes photos of beekeepers working with the winged insects.

"The Vatican should have bees," Goldberg said upon learning that the Vatican does not currently have any bees. "Having bees brings attention to the fact that bees are dying all around the planet."

"Maybe," she added, "I should send the Pope some bees."

Elsewhere, Goldberg revealed that she has waited more than a decade to greet the Pope in person, and said that she immediately thanked him for stressing a message of love and inclusion for people that many among the church seek to exclude — including members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

On her Instagram Story, Goldberg also teased that fans might see a scene from her upcoming Disney+ sequel Sister Act 3 take place in the Vatican.

"Picture Sister Act and all the nuns standing here, waiting for the Pope to come out," she said. "Maybe that's going to happen in the new movie. You don't know. You never know, but we are in Rome, and I am in Vatican City. What could I be doing? Why could I be here? We'll find out."

Goldberg is set to return to The View on Monday.
