See the Cobra Kai cast back on set for sixth and final season

The Netflix hit will return later this year.

Cobra Kai fans have been waiting a long time — 512 days, to be exact — for the sixth and final season. Today, Netflix gave those fans the good news that their wait will be over this year.

A new video posted by the streamer on Monday revealed that the Cobra Kai cast and crew are back in production for "the biggest, the baddest, the final season," coming in 2024. Watch the full video below:

The announcement comes one month after star William Zabka posted a video to X (formerly Twitter) giving fans a glimpse of his season 6 training regimen. In the final season, Zabka's Johnny Lawrence and his fellow sensei Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) are expected to bring their respective dojos to the elite Sekai Taikai international karate tournament.

Griffin Santopietro as Anthony LaRusso, Mary Mouser as Samantha LaRusso, Xolo Maridueña as Miguel Diaz, William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence, Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso, Nathaniel Oh as Nate, Yuji Okumoto as Chozen Toguchi, Tanner Buchanan as Robby Keene, Peyton List as Tory Nichols in Cobra Kai

Cobra Kai creators Jon Hurwitz, Josh Heald, and Hayden Schlossberg have a lot of unanswered questions to address in the action-comedy's final season. Johnny's former mentor-turned-adversary John Kreese (Martin Kove) faked his own death to escape prison — but where did he go? The back-in-production video shows Kove in the martial arts studio training with a katana, so wherever Kreese is going, he's clearly well armed.

Sinister Cobra Kai dojo owner Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) was sent to jail for the attempted murder of Stingray (Paul Walter Hauser) — but will the billionaire be able to buy his way out of legal trouble? And most importantly, will the show finally land a guest spot from the next Karate Kid herself, Julie Pierce {Hilary Swank}?

"If you look at our track record so far, we've brought back a ton of people [from the Karate Kid franchise]," Heald told EW in 2022. "Where our story goes from here, and when and if Julie Pierce makes an appearance, we're going to keep very close to the vest at this point."
