EW’s Comic-Con coverage continues! Next up, a peek inside Ballroom 20 as the cast of Psych hits the stage:

The Panel: Actors James Roday, Dule Hill, Corbin Bernsen, Kirsten Nelson, Maggie Lawson, and Tim Omundson, who doubled as moderator. Executive producers Steve Franks, Kelly Kutchak, and Chris Henze.

The Big Revelations: “The musical episode is half-way written,” revealed Franks, who also sang a piece of the music. The two-hour episode includes the line, “…soon to be unfurled, it’s the murder capital of the world.” Also, there’s a book on the way! Look out for Psych’s Guide to Crime Fighting for the Totally Unqualified.

Footage Screened: There was a short preview of the episodes to come, including the big Clue-themed 100th episode. Other highlights from the reel included a Big Foot-themed episode, which looks to have a Blair Witch touch to it, the arrival ER vet Parminder Nagra as Gus’ love interest, and the resolution to last year’s big cliffhanger involving Henry (Bernsen). Our peek at the latter was actually pretty powerful, and the end of the footage found Shawn pointing a gun at the man who shot Henry!

Snap Judgment: The panel was a little short on scoop. (Jeffrey Tambor’s previously announced guest spot as Juliette’s stepfather and the show’s musical episode were the few possibly-new-to-you moments.) But it was definitely high energy, thanks to the many, many passionate Psych-Os in attendance. Also, if one cast is going to play along, it’s this one. Between Hill and Roday’s on-stage duet of their original joke tune “Boom at the Bottom” and the Psych-off with fans, this panel had a lot going on.

Most Incisive Audience Question: A young boy, who was the first fan to ask a question during the panel, cut to the chase with a question directed to Jeff Wachtel, co-president of the network, who was NOT sitting on the panel: “Will there be a season 8?” asked a young boy. From the crowd, Wachtel didn’t answer directly. Instead he received a rousing response when he asked the crowd, “What do you think? Do they deserve a season 8?” In a lighter moment, a fan asked stars Hill and Roday what they thought their characters would do if they switched bodies for a day. First on Roday’s list? “I’d probably try to dunk.”

Least Incisive Audience Question: “Will we be seeing a more mature side of Shawn this season?” NEVER!

The Winner of the Panel: Toss up! Dulé Hill, who took a phone call from his mother during the panel, and Tim Omundson, who had the crowd give a video shout-out to some returning service members!
