Orphan Black: Comic-Con 2016 panel preview

This past season of Orphan Black was arguably one of the best yet, thanks in no small part to a revised focus on OG clone Beth Childs and the shadowy operations — and origins — of Neolution. Plus, Delphine is back!

Now, ahead of the show’s Comic-Con panel on Friday, here’s a refresher on the current status of the BBC America drama.

Where we left off: Season 4 filled in much more of Beth’s backstory before she crossed paths with Sarah Manning on that train platform and brought renewed focus to Neolution’s machinations. Rachel, back in villain mode, dispatched this season’s baddie Evie Cho in her quest to control Neolution. Cosima’s work with Susan Duncan may have brought forth new hope for a cure to the clones’ disease, and also led to a reunion with Delphine, who is alive(!) and on the island with a mysterious group of inhabitants. Finally, we also learned the man who founded Neolution back in the 1800s is, apparently, somehow, still alive.

What we know about next season: Besides that it will be the last one? Series co-creator Graeme Manson told EW that he thinks season 5 “will be going back to that elemental Sarah versus Rachel nemesis dynamic” and also teased that fans can expect to see Krystal back again. We likely haven’t seen the last of the male clones — Ira’s still around, plus Manson added that they’ve also “left a Castor or two out in the wind.” Same goes for other players from seasons past. “There may be other Orphan Black characters we’ve met over the past few seasons still in the wind that we would be very interested to somehow roll back into our story next year,” he said.

Burning Comic-Con question: How in the heck is Neolution founder P.T. Westmoreland still alive, and knocking on Rachel Duncan’s door?
