Demi Moore's heartfelt wisdom for daughters amid Bruce Willis' health battle: 'Meet them where they're at'

The "Feud" star said that her ex-husband, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, is "doing very well."

Demi Moore is sharing the advice she gives to her three daughters amid her ex-husband Bruce Willis’ dementia diagnosis.

The Feud: Capote vs. The Swans actress, who was married to Willis from 1987 until 2000, was asked about the Moonlighting actor’s health while visiting Good Morning America on Wednesday.

In 2022, the Willis family revealed that he would be stepping back from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia, which later progressed into frontotemporal dementia

"I think, given the givens, he's doing very well,” Moore told hosts Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Michael Strahan

"What I'll share is what I say to my children, which is: it's important to just meet them where they're at and not hold onto what isn't, but what is,” Moore, who shares daughters Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah with Willis, said. “Because there's great beauty and sweetness and loving and joy out of that."

Last November, Tallulah spoke candidly about her dad’s ongoing health battle while visiting The Drew Barrymore Show, telling the host, “He is the same, which I think in this regard I've learned is the best thing you can ask for.” That same month, Rumer also posted a throwback photo of her and her dad with the caption: “Really missing my papa today.”

Earlier this week, Moore was asked if she had any advice that she could impart to those with family members who have similarly been diagnosed with dementia while on Andy Cohen’s radio show

"I think the most important thing I could share is just to meet them where they're at," she said. “When you let go of who they've been or who you think they [should be], or who even you would like them to be, you can then really stay in the present and take in the joy and the love that is present and there for all that they are, not all that they're not."
