Dogpool gets its day at London premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine: 'She's a 10 in our hearts'

The adorable pugese mix walked the red carpet with her costars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman on Thursday.

Hot diggity Dogpool!

The adorable pooch, whose real name is Peggy, hit the red carpet dressed as the Marc with a Bark alongside her costars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman at the London premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine on Thursday. She also received a special introduction from Reynolds prior to the film.

“Guys, this is Peggy, a.k.a. Mary Puppins, a.k.a Dogpool. Get a good look,” the actor said in video footage from the event posted on his Instagram account. “Her nipples are the size of children’s fingers. She won ugliest dog in Britain, but we’re not telling her that because she’s a 10 in our hearts, isn’t she?”

It’s true! Peggy — who is a ‘pugese,’ a pug and Chinese crested cross mix — was crowned the country’s ugliest dog in January 2023. That November, Reynolds announced that she had been cast in the film as Dogpool, a parallel reality version of Deadpool that was turned into a canine.

Reflecting on Peggy’s appearance, he continued, “And that tongue by the way is real and I have tasted it. I’m sorry about that. Yeah, she loves to lick. Loves to get right in there. She is really, truly amazing. This dog went through more training than Hugh Jackman did in the gym every single morning and we love her very, very much, yes we do. She’s a big star.”

Reynolds also warned others to “avoid petting her too vigorously” in the post’s caption, simply adding, “You’ll see why in a couple weeks.”

The actor's heartwarming post definitely had an effect on his wife, Blake Lively. The actress re-posted the video on her Instagram Story and commented, “SOS He’s trying to get me pregnant again. Put the dog that you find adorable in spite of societal k9 expectations away and take off the damn teal suit! Rude.”

In addition to his Dogpool shout out, Reynolds also shared several snapshots of Peggy on the red carpet — as well as photos of their costars Jackman, Emma Corrin, and director Shawn Levy — in a separate Instagram post.

“Whenever Mary Puppins is near, I hear ‘She’s Like The Wind.’ Do you hear it too? And of course, the feint smell of a half lit Newport Menthol cigarette,” he wrote. “Mary Puppins just hits different.”

Deadpool & Wolverine (& Dogpool!) hits theaters on July 26.
