Watch Dua Lipa and Seth Meyers take shots and get matching tattoos: 'We're bonded for life'

Dua Lipa may have gone Houdini while day-drinking with Seth Meyers last month, but the singer returned to Late Night on Tuesday determined to complete their alcohol-fueled gauntlet once and for all. 

The Grammy-winning artist took a shot from the show's very own Barbie Dreamhouse drink luge and commemorated the experience by getting matching star tattoos with Meyers from celebrity tattoo artist Keith "Bang Bang" McCurdy.

Before getting inked, Meyers, who had never gotten a tattoo before, explained that he and Dua had agreed to get “a solitary dot” together during their first drinking session. Dua, however, floated the idea that the pair dream a bit bigger. 

“I think�� we should… maybe a little star,” she suggested, to which Meyers jokingly replied, “Are you pulling a fast one on me?”

Dua ended up getting the design on her ankle as a concerned Meyers supervised and asked Bang Bang questions about the process. “We’re going to be, like, bonded for life," she told Meyers. “I’m committing.”

In turn, Meyers selected a spot on the back of his calf so that he could “kinda forget I have it" if he wanted.

While he shot down the idea of Dua being the one to tattoo him, Meyers, shot glass in hand, later admitted that the process was “not so bad” after all. 

“It’s really funny to have made it this far in my life without getting a tattoo,” he told Dua before taking a shot. “I really have to cheers you again, my friend.” 

Earlier on the show, Dua explained that she was “very happy to live another day” after exiting her recent day-drinking session with Meyers early because she got too intoxicated. 

“Can I just tell what happened?” she asked. “Within like 45 minutes we were having a laugh, we were talking, we started drinking, it was multiple shots, lots of different types of shots — gin, vodka, rum, tequila — all the ones you’re not supposed to mix at the same time. About 12 of those in like 45 minutes.” 

When lunch was called, Dua said she went out for a cigarette and “started getting a little bit dizzy” afterward. She then went to the bathroom, where she said she promptly fell asleep and had to be transported out of the bar by her team in a wheelchair. 

"I was full rag doll," she recalled. "I don't remember a thing. It was amazing. I woke up two hours later and I was like, 'What happened?'"
