Gen V stars pay tribute to late castmate Chance Perdomo: 'You will be deeply missed'

The Godolkin family are rallying around each other after the passing of one of their own.

The cast members of The Boys spinoff Gen V shared a joint statement Monday regarding the death of their costar Chance Perdomo, who starred as metal-manipulating supe Andre Anderson alongside Jaz Sinclair, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Lizze Broadway, Derek Luh, London Thor, Maddie Phillips, and Asa Germann.

"Our hearts are with Chance's loved ones as we grieve this shocking loss," the statement said. "We will remember the special moments we had together, his infectious smile that could light up any room, his warm hugs, and the authenticity he carried with him always. Rest in peace, dear friend, you will be deeply missed."

Gen V, the first live-action spinoff to Amazon's superhero satire The Boys, follows the lives of the students attending Godolkin University, Vought's premier college dedicated to molding the minds of young supes.

Perdomo, who also starred opposite Sinclair on Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, died Saturday at 27 in a motorcycle accident. In addition to spreading their joint statement and posting photos with Perdomo online, some of the Gen V cast members shared even more personalized messages about the tragedy over the weekend.

Broadway, who plays the size-shrinking Emma Meyer, said Perdomo's death "left a profound void in my heart."

"Chance possessed so many interpersonal gifts that I treasured deeply," she continued. "He was a vital part of my growth as an individual, his gentle spirit lifting me up when I needed it most. To me, he was and always will be my superhero."

"This hurts. A lot," Schwarzenegger tweeted separately. "What a young talented actor, and a great friend - gone way too soon. Was a pleasure to work with him in GenV. RIP Chance."

Sean Patrick Thomas, who played Perdomo's father on Gen V, highlighted the late actor's "blinding intellect," "encyclopedic knowledge of hip hop," and "raw talent."

"You were destined to make yourself unforgettable in this world, and in a brief time you achieved it," he wrote on Instagram, alongside photos of him with Perdomo. "You ran your race with style my man. I’ll miss our long talks friend."

Shortly after the news of Perdomo's death broke, the producers of Gen V, including showrunner Michele Fazekas and executive producer Eric Kripke, released their own statement. "We can't quite wrap our heads around this," the said. "For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person. Even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense. We are so sorry for Chance's family, and we are grieving the loss of our friend and colleague. Hug your loved ones tonight."

Season 1 of Gen V culminated in a cameo-filled finale in November, but the show is set to return for a second season and will tie directly into the events of The Boys season 4, which drops in June.
