Glee star Jenna Ushkowitz pregnant with second baby: 'My jaw dropped'

"I was shocked. And then overjoyed, of course," the actress said, while fellow "Glee" actor Kevin McHale said he's "so happy" for his costar.

Glee actress Jenna Ushkowitz is singing to the tune of motherhood for the second time, as the star revealed Friday that she's pregnant with another child.

The 38-year-old and her husband, David Stanley, announced the news via PEOPLE, with the performer telling the publication she learned of the pregnancy while away from home.

"I was actually on vacation in New York visiting my family at the time," she said. "And when I was packing, I had a [pregnancy test] in my closet and I was like, 'Let me just pack it just in case.'"

She continued: "So I packed it and the day before we left the trip, I was like, 'Something feels very familiar about this feeling and let me just take this test.' I did. And when pregnant came up, my jaw dropped. I was shocked. And then overjoyed, of course."

Ushkowitz later elaborated on the announcement on social media.

"Baby #2 on the way," Ushkowitz wrote on Instagram. "We are pregnant and so excited and grateful. It has been a journey, (I will share more soon) but in the meantime, enjoying this exciting time."

Fellow Glee star Kevin McHale commented on his And That's What You REALLY Missed podcast cohost's announcement on the site, telling her that he's "so happy" for her family.

In addition to appearing together on the Fox musical comedy series, Ushkowitz and McHale competed on the second season of RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race in 2022, with the former's drag alter-ego, Milli von Sunshine, placing sixth overall, and McHale's Chic-Li-Fay placing fourth.

Ushkowitz and Stanley also have a two-year-old daughter, Emma, whom the actress said is excited about being a big sister.

"She says, 'I'm a big girl. I'm a big sister.' And she understands baby," Ushkowitz added to PEOPLE. "So to an extent, she knows what's going on. She'll figure it out real soon."
