Diana Ross to perform at the 2019 Grammys

This year’s Grammys ceremony won’t just celebrate current pop stars, but musical legends as well. The Recording Academy announced Thursday that Diana Ross will be performing this year.

According to a statement by the Academy, the performance is meant to honor Ross’ 75th birthday, which lands in March a month or so after this year’s Grammys. The Academy previously honored “Diamond Diana” with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. Like that prestigious award, this performance will celebrate Ross’ trailblazing career in music as both a solo artist and the leader of the most successful female group of all time (the Supremes).

Previously-announced performers this year include Cardi B, Brandi Carlile, H.E.R., Post Malone, Janelle Monáe, and Kacey Musgraves — all of whom are nominated for Album of the Year. Past Grammy winners Red Hot Chili Peppers and Miley Cyrus are also set to perform, among others.

This year’s Grammys ceremony will take place Feb. 10 at the Staples Center in L.A., hosted by Alicia Keys.
