Josh Peck says he got plastic surgery after Turner and Hooch crew member pointed out his eye bags

The actor was also encouraged by his pal John Stamos.

Josh Peck isn't too private to talk about getting plastic surgery to deal with some signs of aging — nor is he too shy to reveal how a well-meaning comment from a Turner and Hooch crew member convinced him to finally go through with the procedure.

On the latest episodes of his Good Guys podcast, the former Drake & Josh child star, 38, was asked by a listener to speak about the laser eye surgery he had last year.

"You know, I like to keep these things private," joked Peck, who has spoken about the procedure several times in the past few months. "But I guess I'll share. Fine!"

He went on to explain that the decision was made with thought toward his future in Hollywood.

"I had, last year, a lower-eyelid blepharoplasty. I put it off for three years," Peck said. "I was shooting a show in 2020 called Turner and Hooch on Disney+. You haven't seen it, and that's your loss. And at one point, the director of photography came up to me and just kind of nicely mentioned, he goes, 'You know, you're getting a little tough to light.'"

Peck added, "He didn't say it quite like that; he said it much more lovely and Canadian."

That wasn't the first comment Peck had received about his noticeable under-eye bags, and he doubted it would be the last.

"I started hearing from [the DP] and some of the producers, that like, they know I don't drink," Peck recalled. "They know that I have a kid, that I don't live hard, that I'm not out like partying, and that, you know, the bags under my eyes are from nothing other than some crappy genetics." He then quipped, "It's all from my dad's side. So thanks for nothing, Dad! Couldn't hang around, but left me your baggage, I see."

In addition to his career concerns, Peck admitted that he was becoming self-conscious of the eye bags himself when a fellow actor, whom he didn't name, suggested he get some work done.

"Shout-out a good friend of mine, who's a great actor, whose name I won't say because I don't know if he publicly wants to be known as someone who got the surgery," Peck said. He jokingly added, "He's not as brave as me."

To this, his podcast cohost Ben Soffer interjected, "Tom Cruise?"

But while the actor's identity remains a mystery, Peck did name-drop another celebrity pal who offered words of wisdom: "Shout-out someone who loves their [being] name said, John Stamos, my other friend, who was like, "George Clooney did it, Josh. Just f---ing do it.' He was like, 'You should've done it yesterday. What are you, nuts?'"

Along with Stamos' encouragement, Peck noted that his video podcast was another contributing factor for going under the knife, because "seeing myself weekly was really hurting my feelings, and the comments were agreeing with my feelings."

Blepharoplasty, which removes excess skin from eyelids, can give eyes a younger and more alert appearance, according to the Mayo Clinic. It can also improve peripheral vision caused by sagging skin.

"It's the best," Peck said of the procedure. "It's really easy. They go all inside your eye. No scar, little lift, little tuck."
