Martin Scorsese and daughter Francesca take their TikTok dynamic to Super Bowl ad

The "Killers of the Flower Moon" filmmaker needs help building a website with Squarespace.

Martin Scorsese is one of the most acclaimed film directors of all time (his recent 10th Oscar nomination for Best Director puts him ahead of Steven Spielberg), but with help from his daughter Francesca Scorsese, he's also become a first-rate content creator on TikTok. Now, Martin and Francesca are taking their talents to Squarespace with a new Super Bowl commercial.

The concept of the commercial finds Francesca helping her father build a website, which Martin thinks of as a film. Although he doesn't typically work in science-fiction, the elder Scorsese says he wants this website to tell the story of "an intergalactic plea for connection."

As Francesca teaches him how to create a domain name and a URL, the director is impressed by the power of the internet.

"I didn't really know a website could do that," Martin said.

"It's basically not real if it's not on the internet," Francesca adds.

Martin declares that the website "slaps," a reference to the Scorseses' TikTok videos where she teaches him current slang. "I really regret ever teaching you that," she grumbles.

Martin's latest film, Killers of the Flower Moon, is nominated for 10 Academy Awards at next month's ceremony, but the director is already hard at work on his next movie, which is about Jesus (though presumably a different take than his 1988 adaptation of The Last Temptation of Christ). He recently met with Pope Francis to discuss the project.

But don't worry — this father/daughter duo don't plan on stopping their TikToks anytime soon.

“He tells people that I pull him into them, but actually, it’s the other way around,” Francesca told Vanity Fair.
