Suki Waterhouse is on the menu in disturbing trailer for cannibal love story The Bad Batch

Writer-director Ana Lily Amirpour made a big splash in genre circles with her 2014 vampire film, and feature debut, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night. She looks set to make a bigger one with her upcoming cannibal love story, The Bad Batch.

The film stars Suki Waterhouse (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) as a young, and seemingly helpless, woman named Arlen, who is unceremoniously dumped by the authorities in a Texas wasteland fenced off from civilized society. While trying to orient herself in the unforgiving environment, she is captured by a savage band of cannibals — one of whom is played by Games of Thrones and Aquaman actor Jason Momoa — and quickly realizes she’ll have to fight her way through her new reality.

The Bad Batch costars Giovanni Ribisi, Keanu Reeves, and Jim Carrey. The film is released in theaters, June 23. Watch the film’s new, and somewhat disturbing, trailer, above.
