New Cars 3 trailer brings showdown with Lightning McQueen's latest rival

Lightning McQueen is up against his biggest competition yet — Jackson Storm.

The latest in lean, mean, racing machines is set to give the red race car at the heart of Pixar franchise a real race for his title. But, as you can see in the new trailer above, that’s not Lightning’s only concern in the upcoming Cars 3, as the racing legend (voiced by Owen Wilson) is being confronted with the one thing he can’t help: his age.

With newer models like Jackson Storm (Armie Hammer) speeding onto the race track, Lightning will have to really get into gear if he wants to remain on top. Lucky for him, he’s got a new trainer in the form of Cruz Ramirez (Cristela Alonzo), a young race technician with her own strategy for success, as well as inspiration for Hudson Hornet (better known as Doc). But is that enough to get him the Piston Cup?
