Wonder Woman is the most-tweeted movie of the year

Add another accolade to the Wonder Woman tally. Patty Jenkins' blockbuster hit is now the most-tweeted movie of the year.

According to data released by Twitter on Thursday, Wonder Woman has accumulated 2.19 million tweets in the United States thus far, pushing it ahead of La La Land and Beauty and the Beast to pace the year's releases.

Breaking the tweets down further, Wonder Woman herself is the most-tweeted character in the franchise film — the latest entry in the DC Comics' Extended Universe — ahead of Batman and Wonder Woman's love interest, Steve Trevor, played in the film by Chris Pine. Star Gal Gadot, Jenkins, and Pine are the most-tweeted stars.

There's no doubt Gadot's social media presence helped with all of this.
