Bad Boys 3 yanked from schedule

Plus: Marvel's 'Silver and Black' lands release, updates on 'Sicario 2' and 'Barbie'

The long road for Bad Boys 3 (a.k.a Bad Boys for Life) is set to get even longer. The film, which hopes to re-team Martin Lawrence and Will Smith, had previously been scheduled for Nov. 9, 2018, but the release has now been pushed to an unknown date. This is the latest setback for the project after losing director Joe Carnahan in March.

In more promising sequel news, Sicaro 2: Soldado has secured a release date of June 29, 2018. Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin, and writer Taylor Sheridan return for the follow-up to the 2015 thriller.

Moving off of the new date for the Sicario sequel is Barbie. Starring Anne Hathaway, director Alethea Jones' film will now be released on Aug. 8, 2018. Sony also moved Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly's Holmes and Watson to Nov. 9, 2018.

And following the success of Spider-Man: Homecoming and news that Tom Hardy has signed on to star in Venom, Sony's latest Marvel property has landed a release date.

Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love & Basketball), the standalone superhero film Silver and Black, which centers on the Marvel comic characters Silver Sable and Black Cat, will hit theaters on Feb. 8, 2019.
