Will Ferrell explains the friendzone in new Daddy's Home 2 trailer

John Cena is back for the sequel

The latest trailer for Daddy’s Home 2 brings more daddies into the mix (Hi, John Cena!) and more antics from Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell’s warring co-dads. This year, stepdad Brad (Ferrell) and biological father Dusty (Wahlberg) have made amends and agree to have Christmas together. Their new bond is threatened, though, when their fathers (John Lithgow and Mel Gibson) come into town for the holidays. Let’s just say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

The trailer shows Brad teaching his stepson about girls. “You want to be the one that she tells you about all the problems with the guy she’s actually dating. It’s called the friendzone.” Spurred by his dad Kurt, Dusty intervenes, asking, “You wanna be like Brad and be in the friendzone, or you wanna be like Dad and get in the end zone?”

The antics don’t end there. As tensions rise, Brad invites Dusty’s rival Roger (Cena) who claims to be the kids’ “one true real dad.” This sequel is quickly morphing into a Mamma Mia reboot.

Daddy’s Home 2 is in theaters Nov. 10.
