Claire Foy calls for help in clip from Steven Soderbergh thriller Unsane

Claire Foy may be best known for playing Queen Elizabeth II in Netflix’s The Crown, but her next role is decidedly less regal.

The actress stars in Steven Soderbergh’s secret psychological thriller Unsane, which he reportedly shot entirely on an iPhone. Foy plays a young woman named Sawyer who’s involuntarily committed to a mental institution, and this first clip from the film finds her desperately trying to convince the staff of her sanity.

After begging the staff to allow her to make a phone call, Sawyer dials 911 and tells the police she is being held against her will. The nurse assigned to look after her, however, seems unfazed. Do you know many calls the cops get like that every week?” she says.

Joshua Leonard, Jay Pharoah, Juno Temple, Aimee Mullins, and Amy Irving also star in the R-rated thriller. Unsane will make its world premiere this month at the Berlin International Film Festival, before opening in theaters March 23.
