Ocean's 8 assembles — and hits the Met Gala — in new trailer

The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute gala in New York City is one of the most glamorous nights of the year — and the women of Ocean’s 8 are planning a jewelry heist right in the thick of it.

A new trailer for the upcoming film was released Thursday, showing Sandra Bullock’s Debbie Ocean — the “convicted felon” sister of “more convicted felon” Danny Ocean, as James Corden’s character puts it — and her seven other cohorts (played by Mindy Kaling, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Paulson, and Awkwafina) planning and then running the job at the glitzy, very-high-security event. (And wearing some seriously gorgeous gowns while doing it.)

As Rihanna’s Nine Ball succinctly puts it in the footage, “Game on!”

Gary Ross (The Hunger Games) is directing Ocean’s 8 from a script he co-wrote with Olivia Milch. (Original Ocean’s trilogy director Steven Soderbergh is on board as a producer.)

Ahead of the trailer’s debut Thursday, Warner Bros. also released short teasers highlighting each of the eight women on the team. Check those out below, and the new trailer above.

Ocean’s 8 opens in theaters June 8.
