Jodie Foster's hotel for criminals goes to hell in Hotel Artemis red band trailer

In the near-future action-thriller Hotel Artemis (out June 8), Jodie Foster plays “the Nurse,” who runs a secret Los Angeles hospital for criminals. The movie is the directorial debut of British filmmaker Drew Pearce, whose previous credits include creating the U.K. superhero sitcom No Heroics and co-writing 2013’s Iron Man 3.

“I love crime movies, and I love sci-fi movies, and I wanted to make something in that milieu, and then the idea of ‘The Nurse’ came to me,” says Pearce, explaining the origin of the film. “I just loved this idea of a woman who runs a secret hospital for criminals, and she’s doing it because she has a broken-hearted tragedy in her core. In some ways, she’s built this place to block out the outside world, and in some ways she’s Wendy and these are all her Lost Boys, and she’s fixing the analogs of the person she could never fix.”

Hotel Artemis costars Sterling K. Brown, Sofia Boutella, Jeff Goldblum, Brian Tyree Henry, Jenny Slate, Zachary Quinto, Charlie Day, and Dave Bautista.
