Jinkx Monsoon, BenDeLaCreme slice Xmas tradition in The Jinkx & DeLa Holiday Special trailer

EW has an exclusive sneak peek at the Drag Race icons' gay old Christmas movie.

RuPaul's Drag Race icons Jinkx Monsoon and BenDeLaCreme are the Queens of Christmas in the first trailer for the upcoming Yuletide feature, which BenDeLaCreme co-wrote, executive-produced, and directed (on a soundstage operating under strict CDC guidelines) as a deconstruction of holiday traditions.

"Part of 2020 is, we have to look at what's wrong with the world and make a conscious decision to be better. If anything, this movie can help inspire people to be better," Monsoon tells EW of the film, which follows the queens as they set out to create a classic Christmas TV variety show, but can't agree on how — mostly due to their respective relationships to the holiday. "There are a lot of holiday traditions that don't really serve us today, and we keep them around because we think we have to, and you can say that about a lot of things in the world right now. The truth is: You don't have to keep anything in your life that doesn't serve you..... or if [it's] inherently problematic, unsettling, or exclusionary. I'm really proud to have created something that says, 'Let's let go of the things that serve us and create new things that will.'"

The queens promise that they don't pull any punches, either (there are plenty of "dick jokes" to stir into your eggnog, BenDeLaCreme promises) — especially when it comes to each other, as the plot evolves into a Christmas duel as the queens battle for creative direction of the show.

"We take the holidays and we spin them," Monsoon says, though BenDeLaCreme promises it's more like seeing the pair "massacre them, chop them all up, and reassemble them. We take a big log of the holiday and we whittle it delicately into a bear that we sell on the roadside" — with a little help from matching chainsaws.

"Not only do you get to see the best stuff we bring to the stage in terms of our chemistry and brilliant comedic writing and songstressing, we've also got all of the magic and mystery that you can only get through the magic of cinema," BenDeLaCreme teases, posing one final holiday treat to Jinkx before finishing: "What if I edit you out?"

The Jinkx & DeLa Holiday Special premieres Dec. 1 on the pair's website, with an accompanying holiday album set to drop on Dec. 11. Watch EW's exclusive trailer above.
