Based on a story by TV titan Dick Wolf, the visceral dramatic thriller School Ties put Brendan Fraser's promising young football star David Greene, a Jewish student, at the heart of a snobby and ultimately antisemitic clique at a posh prep school. The film included many soon-to-be-famous faces, some of whom have gone on to far greater heights in the decades since this movie was released. Ahead, find out what the cast has done since 1992.

Brendan Fraser (David Greene)

Brendan Fraser has had a wild rollercoaster of a career since School Ties. The actor has made some pickles, including Monkeybone (2001) and the third Mummy movie (2008), but he's also made some absolute gems, notably Gods and Monsters (1998), and yes, Bedazzled (2000).

The requirements of some of his action roles led to Fraser undergoing surgeries, including a partial knee replacement. In 2018, he came forward with sexual assault allegations against the former president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. This, in addition to other personal struggles, led to Fraser stepping out of the spotlight, though he has since returned with roles on The Affair, Trust, and Doom Patrol.

Fraser further cemented his comeback with his transformative performance in 2022's The Whale, which earned him several awards including the Oscar for Best Actor. He is also one of the stars of Martin Scorsese's 2023 film Killers of the Flower Moon.

Matt Damon (Charlie Dillon)

Matt Damon played against type as the villain of this film, the pompous bigot Charlie, but, thanks to his incredible acting chops, he pulled it off with chilling aplomb.

Five years later, Damon (along with best friend and School Ties costar Ben Affleck) would help bring the Oscar winner Good Will Hunting to the world, and the Hollywood heavyweight hasn't looked back since. Damon has been a part of numerous major films, including Saving Private Ryan (1998), the Ocean's trilogy, the Bourne franchise, The Departed (2006), and The Martian (2015). His big 2023 includes starring roles in his buddy Affleck's sports drama Air and Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer.

Amy Locane (Sally Wheeler)

Amy Locane had a lot going for her in Hollywood — prior to Ties, the blonde starlet headlined John Waters' Cry-Baby opposite Johnny Depp in 1990, and landed a part on the seminal '90s nighttime soap Melrose Placebefore it all came to a halt due to a 2010 drunk-driving incident that left one person dead.

Locane was sentenced to three years in prison in 2013, and was released on parole in 2015. She was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2020 after the judge ruled that the initial sentencing was too lenient.

Ben Affleck (Chesty Smith)

It's hard to believe Ben Affleck ever portrayed the follower, but the man who would be Batman once played second fiddle to Damon in School Ties as the brutish Chesty.

Since, Affleck has become veritable Hollywood royalty, not only for his Oscar win as co-writer on Good Will Hunting but also for helming the Best Picture winner Argo (2012).

Following Argo, Affleck's résumé features starring roles in films like Gone Girl (2014), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), The Accountant (2016), The Way Back (2020), The Last Duel (2021), and Deep Water (2022). His directorial efforts include Gone Baby Gone (2007), The Town (2010), Argo, Live by Night (2016), and Air.

Chris O'Donnell (Chris Reece)

Speaking of Batman...Chris O'Donnell has enjoyed popularity on screens both large and small since the release of School Ties in 1992.

The former (or current?) heartthrob, who landed his big break opposite Al Pacino in Scent of a Woman that same year, went on to portray Robin in two '90s Batman films and has enjoyed a 14-season stint opposite LL Cool J on CBS' NCIS: Los Angeles.

Anthony Rapp (Richard "McGoo" Collins)

Anthony Rapp's biggest claim to fame might be the role of Mark in the original Broadway cast of the legendary musical Rent, but the actor has been in several noteworthy films over the years, including Adventures in Babysitting (1987), Six Degrees of Separation (1993), A Beautiful Mind (2001), and, of course, School Ties.

Rapp also went on to boldly go where no one has gone before on the 2017 Star Trek reboot, Discovery, playing the TV franchise's first out gay character.

Meanwhile, in 2017, Rapp came forward with accusations against Kevin Spacey for making sexual advances toward him in the '80s, when Rapp was still a minor. This led to others coming forward with similar claims about Spacey. In October 2022, a jury found that Rapp had not properly proved his allegation.
