The director of Ma and The Help has cooked up another bonkers entry in his eclectic filmography.

Allison Janney leads the first trailer for Tate Taylor's upcoming crime comedy Breaking News in Yuba County as Sue Bottoms, an underappreciated suburban housewife who gets an irresistible taste of local celebrity following the disappearance of her unfaithful husband — an act she may or may not have played a role in.

With help from her sister, regional newscaster Nancy (Mila Kunis), Sue's story quickly goes viral in their small town, with neighbors and local TV personalities (namely talk show host Gloria Michaels, played by Juliette Lewis) offering sympathy — and camera time — to the grieving widow.

But Sue's plot takes a nasty turn when she crosses paths with her brother (Jimmi Simpson), his gun-toting co-worker (Wanda Sykes), and a dangerous criminal organization fronted by a local mobster (Keong Sim) and his mischievous daughter, Mina (Awkwafina), all while a ruthless cop (Regina Hall) uncovers increasingly wild information about the case.

Breaking News in Yuba County marks Taylor's latest collaboration with Janney, who previously appeared in his films The Help, The Girl on the Train, Get on Up, and Ma.

Also starring Matthew Modine, Ellen Barkin, Samira Wiley, Bridget Everett, and Clifton Collins Jr., Breaking News in Yuba County releases digitally and in select theaters Feb. 12. Watch the new trailer above.
