Actors Zendaya and John David Washington are officially entering the race this Oscar season with their movie Malcolm & Marie.

On Wednesday, Netflix announced that the film will premiere on the streaming service on February 5, 2021, which is well within the eligibility period for the Academy Awards.

Written and directed by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, the romantic drama centers on a filmmaker and his girlfriend returning home from the successful premiere of his film, and having a conversation that leads to revelations that test the future of their relationship.

The surprise project was notably the first big independent feature to shoot during quarantine, and was later acquired by Netflix out of the Toronto International Film Festival for a reported $30 million.

In addition to Washington and Zendaya, Malcolm & Marie is executive produced by Yariv Milchan, Michael Schaefer, Will Greenfield, Aaron L. Gilbert, and Scott Mescudi (a.k.a. Kid Cudi).
