Sheryl Crow reveals details of new album: 'Fear is definitely present in the songs'

Sheryl Crow is returning to her roots for her new album, Be Myself, coming this spring. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the star reveals she’s working with producers Jeff Trott and Tchad Blake, with whom she worked on hit ’90s albums like Sheryl Crow and The Globe Sessions, for the follow up to 2013’s Feels Like Home.

“I really wanted to get back to how I got started on my second record and third record,�� she said. “I wanted to revisit that sound and that feeling. It was a complete blast and the most effortless thing I’ve ever done.”

The singer also revealed that listeners should expect to hear the fallout from the presidential election reflected in the lyrics. “Fear is definitely present in the songs,” Crow said. “I think the election really incited a feeling of us against them, and a feeling of trying to get back to reason, so thematically there’s a lot of that on the record.”

Crow has plans tour with the collection, which also features collaborations with Don Henley, Stevie Nicks, Willie Nelson, and more. Be Myself has yet to receive an official release date.
