Uffie's bangin' once again.

After a lengthy hiatus (and the birth of her two children), the indie electro queen has returned to music on Charli XCX's new single, "Babygirl," her first official release since covering Tom Tom Club's "Wordy Rappinghood" in 2011.

During a Thursday interview with Beats 1, XCX said the collaboration, which appears on her forthcoming mixtape Number 1 Angel, happened after the pair bonded over caring for a passed-out party guest at the former's home. <iframe src="https://embed.itunes.apple.com/us/embedded-player/idsa.d390da70-04ef-11e7-ae0b-51c97325508d" width="100%" height="104" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowfullscreen="" class="" resize="0" replace_attributes="1" name=""></iframe>

"This song has actually been in my life for a really long time. I wrote this when I was in Sweden. I was doing a writing camp," XCX said. "I wrote this with John Hill, MNDR, and Sarah Hudson… I met Uffie randomly. She came to a house party I was throwing and we had to put someone in an Uber at 6 a.m. who'd been passed out on my floor for the whole night… I've been a fan of Uffie since I was 14. We clicked, stayed in touch, and I sent her this song and she did this amazing verse on it, and then it came together."

Number 1 Angel, which XCX announced Tuesday, drops Friday, March 10. Uffie's debut LP, Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans, was released in 2010. It spawned underground hits like "Pop the Glock" and the Pharrell-assisted "ADD SUV."
