Martin Shkreli lists rare Wu-Tang Clan album on eBay

Once Upon a Time in Shaolin is on the auction block.

Martin Shkreli, the former hedge fund manager and pharmaceutical executive who was convicted on three counts of securities fraud last month, has listed his one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang Clan album on eBay.

The man known as "pharma bro" originally purchased the sole copy of Once Upon a Time in Shaolin in 2015, reportedly paying $2 million. The exorbitant purchase further incensed Shkreli critics who were outraged after his company Turing Pharmaceuticals bought an AIDS drug called Darapim and raised the price from $13.50 a pill to $750.

According to the album's eBay listing, which Shkreli posted on his Facebook page, he intends to donate half of the sale proceeds to unspecified "medical research." Per the terms of the original sale, Shkreli agreed "to not commercialize the content of the artwork to the public for a period of 88 years."

Shkreli said he hopes the album finds a buyer who "makes it available for the world to hear," although he added the caveat, "At any time I may cancel this sale and I may even break this album in frustration."

Once Upon a Time in Shaolin is a double CD and comes with a "finely crafted booklet." The current bid at the time of writing is $200,100.

Shkreli's sentencing date has yet to be set.
