Pink shuts down speculation over feud with Christina Aguilera

Pink isn’t just waiting for chatter about a feud with Christina Aguilera to go away. Early Tuesday, the singer shut down speculation in two tweets.

“Waking up to see a newly created riff between myself and another incredible woman, Christina, who took on an incredible feat, who I support fully, makes me so sad,” wrote Pink, whose reaction to Christina Aguilera’s Whitney Houston tribute at the American Music Awards on Sunday has been criticized on social media. “You all perpetuate keeping women apart b/c you’re afraid of the power we have when we get together.”

Pink continued in a second tweet: “I choose to remember last night as being a celebration of women, of Diana, of Whitney, of love and life and joy and all things good. THANKYOU to everyone that had the courage to take that stage- wether it be right side up or sideways. All love ❤️”

Pink’s new messages arrived a little more than 24 hours after she first addressed the controversy during the show. “Yes. THIS. Christina f—ing killed it tonight for one of our favorite singers ever,” she wrote. “This about Whitney, and I am in awe of Christina’s talent. Show the clip where I’m in tears, you negative Nancy’s ??✌?❤️”

The clip Pink refers to was taken of her in the audience at the AMAs. As Aguilera belted a medley of Houston’s hits from the Bodyguard soundtrack, Pink seemingly furrowed her eyebrows, leading many online to speculate that Pink was cringing over the performance.

But despite their complicated history together — Pink has alleged Aguilera “swung at me in a club” after they worked together on the 2001 all-female smash hit “Lady Marmalade” — Pink insists they’ve been on good terms. “She’s so talented and deep down I’ve had bad days, too,” Pink said in October on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “She’s a really sweet person. We made up on The Voice. I mean, it was funny, I laughed. I hadn’t seen her in years and years and years.”

So far, Aguilera hasn’t publicly commented on Pink’s reaction to her Houston tribute at the AMAs, where Pink sang alongside Kelly Clarkson in the opening number and scaled the side of a building in a shocking solo performance.
