Kylie Minogue teases new album Golden

The glitziest showgirl from Down Under is back.

In the wake of online rumors suggesting her upcoming studio album would be called Golden, Kylie Minogue has confirmed the title of her next LP via an enthusiastic message online.

“It’s true. We have GOLDEN times ahead!” Minogue tweeted Wednesday afternoon, shortly after EW reached out to her representatives for confirmation on the title for the forthcoming record. “I can’t wait to share new music with you.”

Earlier Wednesday, social media buzzed with speculation about the Australian pop star’s 14th collection, which a series of unconfirmed French promotional posters initially pegged for a spring release. The album’s lead single is expected to drop by the end of the month, while Minogue also plans to tour her new music throughout 2018. Minogue’s team did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment.

“There’s a little bit of heartbreak, I would say,” Minogue told The Sun of her new material in October 2017, admitting that her breakup with former fiancé Joshua Sasse informed the album’s creative process. “I went to Nashville for two weeks and that became the album. I did a lot of work on the album before that, but Nashville had a profound effect on me. The songs are very storytelling and story-based. It was so great to do things a little bit differently.”

Minogue spent most of 2017 teasing the album on social media, sharing photos on Twitter and Instagram of studio sessions with the likes of DJ Fresh, Karen Poole, Mark Taylor, and Guy Chambers, among others.

She hasn’t released a new album since her 2015 holiday set Kylie Christmas, her final recording for Warner Bros. before she made the jump to BMG at the top of 2017. Her last proper pop album, 2014’s Kiss Me Once, debuted at No. 31 on the Billboard 200, though none of her releases across the last 17 years have made as big of a stateside splash as her 2001 hit Fever, which reached No. 3 in the U.S. and spawned the worldwide smash “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.”
