We love a festive Christmas queen.
More than 25 years after she released the now-iconic “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” Mariah Carey has updated it with a new music video featuring her two kids and actress Mykal-Michelle Harris from ABC’s mixed-ish.
Titled the “Make My Wish Come True Edition,” the video features Carey in a white-trimmed red dress, a nod to the original video. The songstress performs the track in a winter wonderland filled with candy canes, dancing, and a snowy mansion.
There are modern touches as well, with Carey’s 8-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, along with Harris, hitting contemporary dances like the Woah and the Shoot. Seeing as Carey sang the theme song to mixed-ish, one of the spin-offs to black-ish, it makes sense to see Harris starring in the video.

The video comes at a perfect time, as the song finally hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 after debuting back in 1994. The milestone is Carey’s 19th time topping the chart, giving her more No. 1 singles on the Hot 100 than any other solo artist (she trails the Beatles, who have 20).
Co-written by Carey, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” was the biggest hit from her 1994 holiday album Merry Christmas. To mark the album’s 25th anniversary, the singer released a deluxe anniversary edition last month.
While her Christmas album is now a holiday staple, Carey revealed to EW this week that she was initially hesitant to release it.
“That’s because it was so early in my career. I didn’t feel, from a strategic point of view, that it was time to do something like that,” she said. “As much as I love Christmas, I thought that the record company was off. Obviously, I couldn’t have been more wrong.”
