Halsey's new single gets release date after dust-up with record company

Capitol Music says "So Good" will be out in June.

Halsey's new single has a release date, one week after the record label controversy that took TikTok by storm.

Capitol Music tweeted Tuesday that the singer's next single, "So Good," will debut June 9, adding that the company encourages "open dialogue" and has "nothing but a desire to help each one of our artists succeed."

The development comes after Halsey, who uses she/they pronouns, accused Capitol of refusing to release the track until "they can fake a viral moment" on TikTok. "Everything is marketing," Halsey captioned a TikTok post that featured snippets of the single. "And they are doing this to basically every artist these days."

Noting their eight-year tenure in the industry and 165 million-plus record sales, Halsey added, "I just want to release music, man. And I deserve better." In response, a spokesperson for Capitol told EW at the time, "Our belief in Halsey as a singular and important artist is total and unwavering. We can't wait for the world to hear their brilliant new music."

The musician celebrated the song's impending release on social media Tuesday. "I didn't expect so much conversation about this record," Halsey tweeted. "All I know is that I wanted you guys to hear it and now you can."
