Brad Pitt reveals Leonardo DiCaprio's affectionate nickname for him

It’s perhaps unsurprising that Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt developed a bond playing an actor and his loyal stuntman in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. But what is surprising is the way DiCaprio apparently expresses that bond.

Stopping by to speak with EW and PeopleTV on the 2020 SAG Awards red carpet on Sunday, Pitt revealed the affectionate nickname “LDC” (as Pitt called DiCaprio in his Golden Globe acceptance speech) bestowed on him.

“‘Lover.’ He calls me ‘lover,'” Pitt says in the video above. “It’s a bit confusing, but I roll with it,” he continues with a shrug.

Asked to elaborate upon his onscreen chemistry with DiCaprio, Pitt adds, “You’ll find, with most of the guys, I would say we’re all pretty much rooting for each other, we all have respect for each other, we all have a good laugh with each other. And it plays. And it’s pretty easy.”

Pitt won the SAG Award for Best Supporting Actor for his Once Upon a Time performance as the laconic Cliff Booth, one more trophy on the road to the Oscars on Feb. 9. DiCaprio was also nominated, in the Lead Actor category, for his performance as fading star Rick Dalton in the Quentin Tarantino epic.
