The Boys star Erin Moriarty thanks fans after Megyn Kelly incident

The Boys star Erin Moriarty is back on social media after responding to Megyn Kelly ’s accusations that she underwent plastic surgery.

In an Instagram Story, the actress behind Starlight on the superhero series thanked her fans for the support (and also showed off a pic of herself holding her dog). “Dropping in to say 1) I love you all 2) v grateful to be holding my little dude again and 3) to [those] that came forward to talk to me, were vulnerable enough to share: you are f---ing amazing,” she wrote, presumably referring to fans who have shared their own experiences with bullying.

“Stories that should be heard FAR more than mine," she continued. "I do believe we have a long way to go. In the meantime: talk to me. I wanna hear. Safe zones, empathy and/or sympathy, and catharsis: a medicinal combo. Trust me.”

Moriarty hasn’t been active on social media since calling out Kelly’s cruel comments last week — she stated that she was finished with social media, and that she was only keeping her account public to allow people to read her response to Kelly.

On her podcast The Megyn Kelly Show, the former Fox News correspondent had cited Moriarty as an example of the “social illness” of young women’s “addiction” to plastic surgery. "More and more young women are doing this," Kelly said. "It’s not about an objection to plastic surgery, it’s about an obsession with turning yourself into this fake version of yourself... I find it like a sign of mental illness. I really want to get in the heads of these young girls and say, 'Please don’t do this.'"

After presenting a recent photo of Moriarty, Kelly said "I thought it was just an AI-generated face... but apparently it’s real.”

Moriarty responded to Kelly’s comments on Instagram. "We're all subject to levels of bullying throughout our lives but I am horrified, and I felt that I deserved to take a second to address these things,” she wrote. “To receive a message about a disgustingly false, counterproductive to the degree of being ironically misogynistic video of Megyn Kelly commenting on the manner — to learn the widespread nature of this has left me horrified."

Moriarty said that the photo was from a time she "got my make up done that day and it involves major contouring and I remember leaving and feeling pretty.”

"This is becoming harassment," Moriarty continued, adding that she’s “horrified by the reaction, the reductive assumptions, and the aforementioned video that is a primary example of such harassment. It's broken my heart. You've broken my heart."
