The View cohost hilariously (and explicitly) flubs Jerrod Carmichael intro: 'Dicktorial debut'

The View cohost and gay volleyball league icon Sara Haines just put the "d---" in diction during a hilarious on-air flub.

As the longtime panelist welcomed comedian and actor Jerrod Carmichael to Monday's show, she attempted to run through a list of his recent accomplishments — before a very specific slip briefly interrupted the moment.

"You released your acclaimed stand-up special Rothaniel two years ago, went on to win an Emmy, released your feature film dicktorial debut," she said, before Joy Behar corrected her: "Directorial debut."

Moderator Whoopi Goldberg placed her hand on Haines' back as she doubled over the Hot Topics table in laughter, while Carmichael chuckled and quipped: "Freudian!"

"I did not mean dicktorial. I did watch it, though," Haines said, before asking the star why he shifted from stand-up comedy to reality TV for his HBO project Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show.

"Through it all, I was obsessed with myself. I was like, yeah, but what about me?" he joked. "It's funny because after I did my special, I realized that I was more comfortable being honest on stage and on camera than I was in my actual life. Thanksgiving was a performance, on-camera, I was being real."

Haines is no stranger to comically profane things on The View; the show has censored the 46-year-old's on-air profanity several times in the past, including in late 2023 when she appeared to tell Republican politicians to "make some s--- happen."

But, Haines' antics didn't stop there. The former GMA3 cohost also morphed into a penis on another 2023 episode during a discussion about the controversial dating show Naked Attraction.

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
