The View stars slam 'broke' Donald Trump for selling mug shot suit: 'Hate this so much'

Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sunny Hostin went in on Trump and George Santos for their questionable merch choices.

Whoopi Goldberg and the ladies of The View have had it with American politics, as the Oscar-winning actress opened Wednesday's episode of the talk show with a warning that the country's current state of affairs couldn't "get any dumber" as Donald Trump attempts to sell pieces of the suit he wore in his mug shot thousands of dollars.

"You-Know-Who is trying to cash in on his legal troubles by selling pieces of the suit he wore in his mug shot — if you cough up more than $4,500 for his trading cards," the 68-year-old said at the top of the broadcast, before turning her attention to expelled congressman George Santos. "And, for $500 a pop, George Santos is offering to make you personalized Cameos."

Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former member of Trump's White House communications team who resigned in 2020, added that she's appalled by her ex-boss' move, and urged people not to give Santos their hard-earned money.

"I hate this so much," the 34-year-old said. "Do not go out and support known fraudsters. The Cameos, I've seen a couple clips, they're kind of funny, but this is a man who... allegedly defrauded a veterans charity."

She added that both men are indicative of "how ridiculous our politics has gotten," before noting that Trump hasn't "won" anything since the 2016 election.

"He's a known loser, he's lost consistently for the GOP, he's bad for the country, and it's time to move on," Griffin continued, while Sunny Hostin said: "You know what it showed me? It showed me that he's really broke and he doesn't have any money and that he's not really a good businessperson when you have to sell pieces of your suit that you wore during your mug shot, you know? For criminal charges! How low can you go?"

Ana Navarro moved things along with a surprising statement on Santos.

"It doesn't bother me at all," she said. "Listen, if you're stupid enough to help him buy Ferragamos instead of using it to buy yourself some Ferragamos, that's your problem."

EW has reached out to Trump's office for comment.
