Veep: Selina Meyer spreads democracy 'like patient zero' in season 6 trailer

Veep‘s Selina Meyer isn't adjusting well to life outside of politics.

On President's Day, HBO premiered a new trailer for the Emmy-winning political comedy's upcoming sixth season, offering a sneak peek at Meyer's first foray into the world of salvaging her legacy after becoming the nation's first female commander-in-chief at the tail end of season 3. Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) would later seek re-election after a brief term in office, ultimately losing a tie-breaking Senate vote to eventual incumbent Laura Montez (Andrea Savage).

"Being an ex-president is like being a man's nipple," Meyer says in the preview, later likening her position to vulgar sexual behavior. "This is my second act. Selina Meyer travels the globe, spreading democracy like patient zero."
