The Goldbergs is breaking a sweat for its next movie homage in season 4: The Karate Kid.

The March 1 episode of the hit ABC sitcom will give an honorable nod to the essential 1984 Ralph Macchio-Pat Morita film which follows one underdog’s journey using the power of martial arts to chop self-esteem issues in half.

In the non-descript ‘80s-set Goldbergs version, Adam (Sean Giambrone) takes up karate for the first time to face off with his rival, the other Adam Goldberg, for the rights to their name. Two high school underdogs, equally matched in title and non-athleticism! EW has a sneak peek:

Barry (Troy Gentile), Uncle Marvin (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’s Dan Fogler), and Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) are on hand to serve as trainers and, respectively, Adam’s own Mrs. Mom-yagi. Plus, there may or may not be a cameo by an original movie cast member somewhere in the episode.

The Goldbergs airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
