Stephen Colbert pokes fun at Trump's 'furious' wiretap tweets

After Donald Trump’s Saturday morning tweet accusing his predecessor of tapping his phones during the election, Stephen Colbert has just one question.

“Who wakes up that angry?” asked the Late Night host during Monday’s episode. “That’s furious. Somebody give this guy a Xanax… or a bran muffin.”

Over the weekend, the president went on Twitter, alleging that Barack Obama had tapped the phones in Trump Tower. In a series of tweets, Trump mentioned both McCarthyism and Watergate — references that bothered Colbert.

“Pick your historical analogy,” he said, before launching into his Trump voice. “‘This is the Pearl Harbor of Hindenburg Great Depression D-Day’s finale of Lost.'”
