Trevor Noah calls Trump a 'proven troll' over 'B.S.' wiretapping claim

The 'Daily Show' host tackles Trump's wiretapping claim

"You know, Donald Trump is the only person who thinks the best way to distract from a scandal is to start an even bigger scandal," Trevor Noah joked during a segment on The Daily Show Monday night. "He's like, ‘This [Attorney General] Jeff Sessions thing is getting too hot, people. I'm gonna pull out my d— and let's see if that helps.'"

The host was referring to Trump's tweet claiming former President Barack Obama wiretapped Trump Tower before the election last year. "This whole story is such B.S." Noah said. "First of all, no one needs to spy on Donald Trump. You can just follow him on Twitter…and secondly, he's a proven troll. We're not going to waste our lives trying to disprove ‘Obama Birth Certificate, Part 2,' and definitely not before the president offers a shred of evidence. What we will do is enjoy this tangerine roller coaster and the ride it takes us on."

Noah then mocked Trump for his unsupported claim, since it seems the president may have gotten the idea from Breitbart News, which Noah deemed a "right-wing conspiracy website."

"How can you be a conspiracy theorist when you're the president?" the host continued. "You're the person with the access to all the information. People make conspiracies because they don't know the truth, and Trump is the guy with the truth and still he's like — pretty soon he's gonna be covered in tinfoil going, ‘The government is spying on me. They're spying on me.' ‘But you are the government!' ‘I know, it goes all the way to the top.'"
