Baskets has been renewed for a third season, FX announced Thursday.

The show, which Zach Galifianakis created with Louis C.K. and Jonathan Krisel, follows Chip Baskets’ (Galifianakis) journey to become a professional clown — a journey filled with plenty of bumps, including a doomed marriage and a complicated relationship with his doting, Costco-loving mother (played by Louie Anderson in a performance that earned him an Emmy last year).

This year, Baskets has solidified its standing as one of the best comedies on television, building on the momentum of its breakout first season that brought critical acclaim and awards,” FX’s co-president of original programming Nick Grad said in a statement. “Our thanks to Jonathan Krisel, Louis C.K., Zach Galifianakis and the rest of the creative team, Louie Anderson, Martha Kelly and the full cast and crew for taking us on this journey with Baskets.”

Baskets’ second season currently airs Thursday nights at 10 p.m. ET on FX.
